Horse Racing Strategies Megathread

Jan. Problem with only using one year though is when you take into account seasonal changes its probably not a lot of data

@Jonathan-Jones said in Horse Racing Strategies Megathread:
I usually look at 2022 to create the strategies then open the dates out as an out of sample confirmation. I find they continue profitable into 2023 and totally tank on 2021 data a lot more than the other way round.
A sensible approach
-
@Jonathan-Jones do you go from Jan 2022 or pick a spot? How are your strategies getting on at the moment?

@Martin I'm guessing some time late last year. Going to try different dates starting from the beginning of the jumps last year
-
@John-Folan interesting, I wonder if we could work out when it realigned
-
I've just run my old trobs and dobs through it that I used to get from the IRTT and this year they would have worked. Last year and 2021 no chance. They were based on a 70% Career Dob Rate and a few other restrictions. Would have given 70 points dobbing and 68 points trobbing so far this year. 60% strike rate on dobs and 43% on trobs. They need 52% and 35% respectively.
Time to play and hopefully given people something to think about.

Just playing with all the presets. Noticed a lot of them that the majority of their profit is in 2021/2022. Looks like Covid had a bigger effect on things than I thought. I'm guessing that the bookies pricing went out of the window and things only really returned to normal this year.
Any thoughts?

@Martin Awesome! I upgraded today to Platinum an just waiting to get in
-
@Benny-Grahn results are in the software bud you just run the strategy
-
@Martin Thanks!
Is there some shared spreadsheet of your tracking? -
@Benny-Grahn the two I am tracking yes
-
@Martin Is the pinned versions the latest version of bots/Filters?
-
All at Dundalk and 3 are around max odds so could be a timing/max odds issue.
The 5.8 one, were there 2 horses at same price when BFBM checkedAnyway the above is why Dundalk was removed from mine.

@alexander-hughes the stats software suggests that it should have fired on 2 yesterday and didn't. It should fire on the 2:45 Hexham today, so be interested to see if it does. 3rd fav is 4.5 and looks a clear 3rd fav. Universal Folly.
Just for confirmation, it did fire...and tye horse won Be interested to see why it didn't grab the ones yesterday.
-
@Correa There was indeed a brief issue a moment ago. Give it another try now, it is resolved.
-
Is anyone else experiencing issues with the horse software not running strategies this morning, or is it just me?
-
@Andrew-Gray %age of bank think I went with 2% at the start with £200 bank and have since upped it to a 400 bank, it's basically laying them for a tenner at the mo
-
@Joe-Beeston No but i wasn't expecting any to fire as there weren't any qualifiers in my version.
Hexham tomorrow though.
-
Anybody else had BFBM fire on the Lay 3rd Fav today? I haven't had any placed all day and I am pretty sure 3 or 4 should have. Won't know for sure until the results tomorrow. Just wondered if others had the same?
