Zero Paced Lays.
I've been dicking around with these for a while now. The theory being horses with a pace rating of 0 are crap. It does work on the base filter alone, but with a couple of sensible obvious and logical filters it looks very tasty. Despite the pretty graph it can be swingy. I have hit a couple of 50 point downturns on a different version including the flat. However it recovers. The profit on the flat is nowhere near the jumps so I've removed it. A 200 point bank (or 0.5% of your bank) irons that out. There is a case for leaving out the summer jumps if you go by this and last year, but I will leave that to you lot to mess about with. Let me know what you think.

@John-Folan Thanks - that makes sense!
Just trying to work out which filters should stay and which should go for generating the daily selections for automation (if that makes sense).
Runner numbers. The rest are static. Your bot will then check runner numbers close to the race and odds as well.

@Joseph-Henderson let me know what you conclude, interested in other opinions on the strategies

@Martin What is it actually filtering though?
It’s basically looking for horses that have a good track record of dropping to half of their start price or dobbing (double or bust) as we like to call it. There’s a good explanation on the first post on my horse trading resources page which is well worth a read and explains it better(with examples) than I can. The other way to do it on the softwareis “lowest price in running less than bsp x0.5”. It should give the same result. That’s the way I do it, this is just a different way to get the same result.

@Joseph-Henderson Betfair Starting Price (basically price at start of race on Betfair)

Looks interesting this! Would anyone be able to explain the BSP filter to me - I am not really sure what it is comparing/filtering? Think I understand all the other filters!

@John-Folan ah right thought you had already
Looks good to me. Changing the start time from Actual to Official(which it would be in the real world) reduces profit slightly but looks good apart from that! My only caveat would be the stop loss which can just get blasted through and not be taken inrunning. But proof of the pudding is in the eating. Even if you dont bother with a stop loss or it doesn't work it still looks profitable.

Hi @Martin, can we run place strategies on the horse racing software? Thanks
-
@Jonathan-Jones thanks for this. I'm still struggling to see the horse names though, May be I'm missing something.
