Put it like this, if it was that much of a problem Flutters share price would have plummeted today. It barely moved and finished up on the day.

@john-folan amazing if so- what makes you think that though?

It’s aimed at younger gamblers and slots. It’s an utter whitewash. Won’t make a jot of difference. That affordability check for losing large sums will be pointless too

@dan-mackinnon to be honest, I haven’t read the whole paper yet. However, all the information I’ve been seeing on twitter today suggests they are going to start to do soft affordability checks on accounts with daily losses of over £125 and more stringent ones for daily losses of over £1000 and £2k over 90 days.

I have no idea if exchanges are going to be lumped in, however if so, it would obviously be an enormous (possibly fatal?) thorn in the side of what we do here… we certainly have many down swings on the way to profitability…. Fingers crossed

@joshua-varley isn't the white paper meant to be more about protecting people who deposit a load of money and then lose it?

I can't see how it impacts what we do. If anything there should be more restrictions to prevent people from getting into too much gambling debt (e.g. no deposits from credit cards).

@jonathan-jones it's amazing what potential the horse racing software has demonstrated.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the football software update throws up when that's released

Thas a big milestone passed. Running all the strats (or versions of anyway) on a tiny £50 bank with 1% of previous days balance as the stake has now doubled the account. March was a write o9ff because i kept messing with stuff so ignored that one. Started again in April. Still a bit of messing at the start but didnt make much difference. A good time of year to start i think according to the backtests.

The glasses thing, I do that at least twice a week 😂

I also couldn’t find my phone one time while I was talking on it 🤷🏻‍♂️

@john-folan I appreciate that. As silly as it is, I was relieved that the software was still correct and my strategy hadn't taken a sudden unexpected downturn.

It felt like when you see people looking for their glasses but they're on their head the whole time! I was going through loads of different possibilities with the software but the issue was with the user all along. What do they say about a tradesman blaming his tools?!

I was banging my head against the wall and not understanding why one version of a bot in Fairbot was working fine on one VPS but I created another version on my laptop and getting different results.

Over the weekend I ran both together and got different results. So I imported both versions and looked at them side by side and the answer was obvious.

I forgot to put a rule in when I created the new version to cancel any trades from going in play. I've had such a rubbish month and it's been my own fault for missing something basic. What a pillock! 🤦

I’ve made so many silly mistakes over the years. Don’t beat yourself up too much.

    @adam

Thats pretty much the case. I dont have enough data to make a judgment either way but i was findong using LTP for the execution would result in some unmatched bets. Dont see any now i use best available but i do get some quite far off (tends tyo be the bigger lays on the top prices too). I added a second filter to fairbot so its LTP and best available but i think this might result in a few missed trades (not noticed any so far but logically there will be some).

using the trigger on LTP and bet placement on best lay price i often get several ticks off the price.

Out of interest, are you getting better prices by using best available? I guess it's hard to judge, as you're probably getting matched every time using best available but not always with LTP...

I seem to have some conflicting results with Fairbot again. I'm not sure if it's something I'm doing that's changed but I'm going to pause it for the time being.

Looks like I might be joining the BFBM club when my subscription runs out.
