Do we think results will be weird for a couple of weeks at the start of January in the big leagues, with players easing themselves back in?
possibly! It's all speculation though as we're never had a winter tournament.
I'll be carrying on regardless. I've enough in reserve to take a hit.

@chris-osborne Same, I don't rate Varane, in an ideal would it would be Konate and Kunde at CB I think.

Yeah I'm going to be careful, at least for the first game back, can't wait for boxing day though what a great slate of games!

I think I am biased but Konate is a much more cultured CB than Upamecano, he just kicks people!
France for me I think, like above a team that gets lucky twice cannot be written off
I’d take konate and upamecano ahead of Varane any day of the week.
France been the best team of a bad bunch in a tournament that’s been low on quality but the drama’s been there.
Not got a lot of interest to be honest all outrights complete

@Martin Was it that long ago? One of my favourite quotes from that time was someone who messaged talk sport with the classic.. "I know everyone in the country has gone Rugby Mad but isn't it about time Leslie Ash took that gum shield out of her mouth" .. sorry this should be on the off topic thread
serious question here, do any guys actually like the fake lips implants things lots of girls are into? puts me right off!

Other than uk and a few others most leagues are straight into winter breaks anyway so will be no different for me. May be on reduced stakes until facup 3rd round.
Bigger issue for me is the weather if this continues
A lot of leagues are on there usual post winter break schedules not restarting until mid to late Jan

must admit I lost a lot of interest now club football is back and we are out, France are a good team despite being depleted but every other major team has underwhelmed me to be honest, including Argentina.
After a few days of reflection I actually think England were disappointing, huge opportunity missed, only chance we really had of scoring was penalties which isn't great.
Not getting any goals from open play - we deserved to go out. A missed penalty shouldn't have sent us out if we had any chance of being the best footballing country in the world.

@Martin I went to a restaurant recently over there and the waiter started hammering me about Rugby .. in my finest French I responded "You lot haven't given a sh*t about Rugby for 15 years but now you've got a decent team you want talk about it again" .. that went down well
To be fair I was the same in 2003

@Martin I'm split - I fly back to France today and they will be unbearable if they win.. but agree re that song.. mind you the French singing the Will Grigg tune is cringeworthy
Vive la France!
