Morning @Martin. On your daily email, you added the Chengdu match from you under 1.5 filter but left out Henan one.
Trying to refine (create?!) my own process so two matches reduced to one seemed like a good time to ask.

@richard-latimer they tend to cost money initially but that’s made back in tourism……generally speaking. Obviously not in beer sales though 😂

Actually, the only world cup of recent history to make money is Germany in 2006 and that was because they already had the infrastructure. Even London Olympics lost money. That's why more bids are becoming joint such as USA/ Mexico and Canada

More politics than football but the majority of Middle Eastern countries rely on the sale of oil to fund their riches. With alot of the worlds more advanced countries talking about moving away from oil consumption in the next 10-15 years the Middle East have to target their sales at less developed countries, or find alternative sources of income (such as hosting major sporting events).

Qatar is moving away from oil and making itself important to developed countries. They own the Shard in London, PSG, an airline, Al-Jazzera news, and one of the largest airports that require flights to changeover. Qatar also has the world's largest airbase with the most US military personnel outside of the USA. I would recommend anyone who's interested listen to The Rest is History podcast which covers the history of Qatar, really interesting.

Anyway, back to football talk, for such a football-crazy nation the stadium seemed to empty long before full time....At least the brighton players felt at home

    No😂

It just strikes me that the reason some countries didn't want to host the Euros again on their own was because it cost too much or so I thought. Isn't that part of the reason they were held across Europe before as opposed to one country?!

I’ll certainly be watching the World Cup. FIFA should not have awarded the World Cup to Qatar, but they did. No FA (to my knowledge) opposed the decision.

They where awarded the World Cup in 2010.

BBC’s coverage tonight was a disgrace. They didn’t cover the opening ceremony, choosing to virtue signal instead. If the BBC feel that strongly about human rights abuse in Qatar (which they should) then they should have stayed at home. The presenters also should have stayed at home.

Gary Neville was on BEIN Sports saying the Arab World should host the World Cup. Which Arab country should host it then? This isn’t a dig at Arabs at all. However, it is a dig at the Arab Worlds theocracy.

Taking the knee before the game and wearing ‘One Love’ armbands means f**k all. If players were really concerned then they should have voiced their opposition long before the tournament kicked-off

    Spare me the faux outrage

    😂

See Linekar has already addressed not showing the opening ceremony on BBC as there was a last minute schedule change. Apparently it was on BBC red button and iplayer.

@keith-anderson Agree with pretty much everything

I only watched the match didnt bother with BBC before or after and will do the same with ITV and all matches.

Not only should BBC have covered the tournament from the UK, ITV also on moral grounds but how much is this costing the licence payer when most people are struggling to make ends meet. I find this disgusting.

Lets face it FIFA is as corrupt as most of the Arab countries if not more so.

@james-everard can’t ignore the impact of a mid season World Cup. Wouldn’t take too much from it personally

For the first time in 2.5 years im genuinely questioning if I have what it takes to be a trader! Another strategy with 5000+ results has seen a huge drop off and a losing sequence larger than before….no idea how to remove the variance and how to trade it. I feel like I’m constantly tweaking and resetting things and my trading was going great until October but now I’ve given back a lot of the previous few months profit. I have no idea how the pro traders do it because I’m definitely missing a trick somewhere!

Exactly how i feel mate, another terrible start to the month made me change my filters further and hopefully allow me to evaluate what to do over the next few weeks with less matches.
I am sure you will get lots of ideas from some of the pro traders what to do so will look out for the replies also

either replay didn't go back far enough or something FIFA going on

There's no chance that was offside. They paused it at the moment he received the ball, not when it was passed... and i don't think he was even off then! Definitely some brown envelope intervention.

No host nation has ever lost the opening game of a world cup, so after the half time beheadings this will end a draw.

I was itching to watch that bit of analysis at half time on BBC, they didn't really clear it up did they and it seemed to me they were all not saying much about it.

It can only have been for a foul on the keeper
