Horse Racing Strategies Megathread

@martin ahh sorry I hadn't quoted his post. He posted this as a way of splitting out the strategies onto their own line but it's not working for me

@adam Hi Adam, this spreadsheet looks good but I'm getting an error with it. It's not copying data into the other named tabs and I see "Query completed with an empty output".
Any ideas what could be wrong?

@martin Can you remember what it was called? I’m having trouble finding it.
is it not in the presets on the software?
-
@Martin Whatever happened to your backing debut horses at long odds strategy? I can’t find any details anywhere. Thanks.

Thought I would share with the group a laying strategy which has had 3 months consistent profit in forward testing with little drawdown
Its based off the opposite of Wayne's Pace Letter Back strat
The forward testing is slightly different from the strat in that I have based it off the BSP found on Timeform, not 10 mins prior to start. But this appears to be more profitable so far.
Fingers crossed this remains consistent
looks good fella, i think the low drawdown is key as there is a lot of trades a month, that the issue with wayne pace backs and why i stopped doing it, with 400 plus trdaes a month you are exposed to massive drawdowns so i look at strategies with a low number of trades. But keep us posted as it looks a cracking startegy

Little Brucie Bonus. I have started messing with my dobs and found this little micro strategy. There probably are ways to improve it so please have at it

hey john, is this a revision of your slow pace horse dobs?
Nope. Completely different. It’s based on a 70% career dob rate. Lower class racing.

@Paul-Foster : The problem is, if the same horse appears in multiple strategies then you're basically just duplicating the same data over and over again and increasing the size of the download exponentially.
It's pretty straightforward to split them out at the spreadsheet end once downloaded (automatically I mean)... have a look at this template and give the instructions on page 1 a go. It will split all your qualifiers out onto separate sheets for each strategy:

Quick question for @Adam here. (couldn't find the separate horse software thread).
When exporting the day's Qualifiers for all your activated strategies to csv, if the same horse is selected for 2 or 3 different strategies then they all get put together on the same line. If possible It would be much better if they still had their own line so that it is quicker and easier to just sort the list by strategy name and then add provider name for quicker import into BFBM. Currently I have to seperate them out manually with cut and paste etc to get them on their own line and then the provider name for bfbm which is fairly time consuming tbh unless there's a better method i'm not aware of? ThanksI've named the revision name on each active strategy to be the same as the provider, so I delete column A and rename column B as Provider.
