    Hello,

Questions for you all long term profitable traders.

How would you go about match selection before deciding to trade. I use the basic strategies in the profitable members filter section. There are a lot of matches meeting the strats’criteria but surely not all matches are actually worth trading, right? I read a few posts on here, and I saw that people tend to research about key players, what is at stake for the teams involved, form, stats and it all make sense but do you guys know the Peruvian league 2 or even the Finnish league 1 well enough to know the players and the dynamic in those leagues? Keen to hear how you approach your pre trade research when trading those leagues.

Another question I have is around p&L ratio management. I traded 15 matches this weekend. For most of those trades I took between 15% and 25% of my stake in profit, which is good I think, but a couple of time I had to exitin the red and I took up to 40% of my stake in loss. I know that if the strat is good and the trade is EV +, I will be profitable in the long run, that’s fine, but I wondered how you guys managed this? Surely it is all about prices and anticipating odds movement, right? Any softwares apart from soccermistic in Bet Angel that could help with this? Any info sharing would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Matches were way to active for my liking so I traded at 20 minutes. Several of them ended over 2.5 so I was please with my decision. I won't use it for now.

Well, this is definitely what I was looking for when I joined - a plan of action/structure. It can easily get overwhelming when trying to navigate the forum/softwares. It felt like a lot to process. So yes, i think it will help new members in need of a structure.

@nick-segura Do you think I should put Super Trader in here as the first steps people should take to get used to the forum and software and staking etc...

@martin Frost’s over 2.5 goals and Matt’s under 2.5 set and forget had a lot of selections, especially Matt’s. I traded Matt’s filter selections after 20 min max, which was the right thing to do.I just wanted to get a feel of the different markets so I tried a few filters.

@nick-segura I have seen you have Super Trader now that will address a lot of this I think 😄

You'll be smashing it up in no time with that!

@nick-segura odds, perceived value, leagues, team news etc. Quite a few ways to do it, how come you get so many selections? Sounds like your filter may need a little adjustment

@martin Thanks, i am still testing the strategies with small stakes to figure out what works for me - time wise etc. Once i find a couple that work for me I’ll stick with those. For now I end up with quite a lot of selections for over/under 2.5, how do you go about prioritising matches over others?

@nick-segura in general I stick to the selections of my chosen strategies, you can add strategies to your portfolio over time and don't have to have a really high number of trades per day to do well.
