My Preferred Trades in Detail
I have listed below my staple trades which I use on an almost daily basis. I can easily automate my Split Stake trade but automating my SHG trade is proving to be a challenge but will probably always be a manual trade.
Alan’s Split Stake Trade
I generally like to enter my Split Stakes around the 10/15min mark, prefer nearer 12/15mins.
Below is my preferred format for trading my Split Stake;
Back o1.5 goals @ odds 1.35 for 0.2pts (assumed 1.35 odds around the 12/15min point as these are my preferred min odds)
Back o1.5 goals @ odds 1.55 for 0.2pts
Back o1.5 goals @ odds 1.75 for 0.2pts
Back o1.5 goals @ odds 2.76 for 0.2pts
Back o1.5 goals @ odds 4.3 for 0.2ptsAs you can see above we are plus 20 ticks with the first 3 stakes then plus one whole point and then plus 1.5 whole points again (rounded up not down).
Exit points;
If you are only 1, 2 or 3 parts matched you can choose to either take the green or remove red (I generally look to do the latter if trading manually)
If you are 4 or 5 parts matched take greenAs soon as your average odds equal the odds in the o0.5 goals market exit for red or… Exit for red anytime around 75mins if you don’t see a goal coming.
Depending on your starting odds you should see nominal green around the 75/78min mark with nominal red on goal scored 79/80min mark… It’s difficult to give all scenario’s here as different factors come into play such as if the dog scored first etc.
Worst case scenario you will be 1pt red (you might choose this option if trading tournaments or non extra time cup games)
Word of Warning!!! When queuing all back bets for the Split Stake you should hit the "Keep" button in Betfair... BUT... If removing red DON'T forget to cancel ALL unmatched bets
Alan’s SHG Trade
Below is my preferred format for trading the SHG market at HT… If I enter later say post 59mins Betfair time then I will most likely just Lay the current goal market;

Back the plus 2 goal market starting at 2.5Back @ 2.5 for 0.2pts (you will be looking for minimum odds of circa 1.85 @ HT for the plus 2 goal market)
Back @ 3.5 for 0.2pts
Back @ 5.0 for 0.2ptsAs you can see we are backing the plus 2 goals market for 0.2pts for 1 whole point on 2nd stake & plus 1.5 points on 3rd drip starting with minimum back odds of 2.5.
If first SHG comes before first stake is matched then I move on.
Lay current score, queue LCS ( This will be the current HT goals market)
Queue LCS 0.306pts @ 1.8
Queue LCS 0.306pts @ 1.5Exit Points
If 1.8 LCS is matched you might have chance to trade out of the plus 2 goal market but with both lays matched I generally let it run.
If only 1 or 2 parts matched in the plus 2 goal market you can either take the green, remove red or even remove half the red if you wish.

Hi Liam, so if you're doing 3 x's £2 back stakes you will have a full liability of around £10.
I've started laying all my liability on 1.8 so I risk around 1.04pts per trade... I currently trade 0.5pts on this trade so for me it's 3 x's £10 @ 2.5, 3.5 & 5.0 then I LCS @ 1.8 for £30.61.
If your doing 3 x's £2 back stakes then it should be 1/5th of mine above... If doing 3 x's £1 back stakes then it will be 1/10th of mine.
Basically either put all your back bet liability on LCS @ 1.8 or halve on 1.8 & the other halve on 1.7

Sorry for not getting back sooner mate.
You should hit 4.3 65-68mins... This helps increase your average odds to help payout green with a later goal circa 78/80mins

@ross-love hi mate, sorry have I edited it wrong... If you mean My Split Stake if odds are 1.35 when I enter its 1.35 = 0.2pts, 1.55 = 0.2pts, 1.75 = 0.2pts, 2.76 = 0.2pts & 4.3 = 0.2pts

Afternoon Alan. I have been paper trading your split stake on one of my filters with great results so far, so big thanks for this
My Split Stake;
5th drip in My Split Stake - I now drop plus 1.5 whole points on my 4th drip...A little confused by this line though, probably being stupid though. Are you still using the 5th staking point but now its +1.5 points ontop of the 4th stake point?
