I've been away for a long time but one subject i've been deeply passionate about and a new found love is for Financial independance.

F.I.R.E - Financial independent and retire early is a movement gaining popularity here in the UK and was inspired by 30/40 somethings retiring, what a life to have the ability to retire early and live off your passive incomes.

    Are there any others involved?

Can thread about what others do, or what i do even. I have created a website that follows my journey but personally would love to see if it can inspire us on here, it fits our trading profiles.

There’s a few challenger banks but its tricky to get people to move everything over, I love the monzo interface (better than any of the others) thought about moving everything over but then thought god this is a faff and I’ve stuck with Halifax lol

@martin Yes you're right about that, most people will not lose their money ultimately.

Its a shame as, like he said, we could really do with a new bank that takes on the established mega banks to shake things up a bit.

If anyone uses Monzo banking you may want to keep an eye on it this coming year.

not good but what he surprisingly didn't mention (probably not good for the drama) is that money is protected by FSCS up to £85,000 so I'm guessing most people will be absolutely fine.

They're also under FCA investigation over anti-money laundering rules!

Hi all, thought this was as good a place as any to ask this question.

Has anybody ever tried any sort of Network Marketing ? I’ve always been sceptical in the past but have recently decided to give it a go after becoming a customer of a certain company and I think it’s really got the potential to work and be built up part time without having to throw hours and hours at it.

Would be interested to hear peoples opinion of n the concept and obviously be happy to share what I’ve been introduced to.

I guess speaking on here I’m speaking to like minded people ie people who don’t accept having to slave away until they’re 65-70 in the rat race 🤔

I presume youve exhausted matched betting?

@martin-futter i have tried this using their fba service. Amazon ended up trying to steal a fair chunk of money from me. Never did anything shady in the slightest. Had to take them to small claims court to get money back. Would avoid at all costs lol ebay have been good for re selling things and the customer service is okay too.

This happens a lot with Amazon! I used to deal with a lot of companies that sold on Amazon FBA and they.often had the same issue. Some deservedly so, some harshly so. The issue with dealing with Amazon as a company is that they have a tremendous amount of arrogance and zero leeway is given so if something isnt done 100% to their (sometimes arbitrary) specifications then they will just get rid, no questions, no excuses

If you do want to sell on Amazon then i would suggest dealing in either higher ticket items or more niche products. Its often a race to the bottom for products which are easily sourced by just anybody. The higher the barrier to entry for you, the more longevity you are likely to see (provided theres a market and sufficient margin)

@john-hurst research stocks that pay dividends , that seems to be a really common one . Takes time to accumulate but will put literal cash in your pocket.

@matt-wood Yes absolutely. My own missus won't do one which is insane because you guaranteed a 1k top if you invest 4k a year. It's absolutely worth doing but has to be used either for a first time buy (house) or taken at 60 years old . If you need access before that age then stick to an ISA.

have they changed it as I get access to mine at 55

Think they might have as opened one for the missus yesterday and she can only have it back for a first house purchase or at age 60.

@luke-ridger Great, thanks. Glad to know I understood it the same way. Seems reading is working...whod have thunk it! lol.

We have a bit of spare cash so will use it as a 60+ fund. I could't believe how much you can get from the government on this when I looked at it!
