Hi all. I am a newbie getting to grips with trading. Have just signed up this month and very much learning the ropes. Have been through a lot of the YouTube videos and podcast and all really great content. I have picked one strategy and pulling apart to get an understanding and have a few questions. The strategy is the Lay the Draw before kick off

    The questions I have are

    • Why do you look for 20 goals scored for both teams in the last 20 games (why that number?)
    • Why looking for under 20% for half time 0-0 (why that number?)
    • Why looking for home team to score first?

Generally are you looking for the home team to score first? I was watching the 2 Championship play off 1st leg matches last night and the odds to back the draw once Bournemouth scored were a lot higher than when Swansea scored. Is this because Bournemouth were the home team?

Apologies if these are really dumb questions but I'm just learning. Thanks for your time

    Gotcha,

Wasn't 100% sure on it but now I know.

So the reason I was looking at those stats was this filter was pretty much my first way of trading football and I built upon it over the years and these were the additions I added in.

It's a longer term play as it has ups and downs over a season but its profitable longer term.

It would be down to the pre match odds - if the fave (which is usually the home team in an LTD) score first that will cause the prices to increase.

Can you link me the video and I will hopefully be able to answer in more detail the other Q's.

@barrie-smith it will be down to their prematch odds and the time of the game the goal is scored. So if a favourite scores the draw odds will go out a fair bit, if the underdog scores the draw odds might not move much unless late in the game.

Not seen that video but if you want a LTD at KO strategy, have a look at Stuart's thread as linked below: -
