    Update

Apologies. I have a ongoing trade in the snooker and as players were beaten Betfair have obviously put it down as a losing trade even though I am in a green position. Which means taking that trade out of the equation April was actually a green month with +3.4 green. That means I have had 9 green months in a row.

    Aayyyy!!! Well done 👍🏻 Congrats

Apologies Eamonn miss read your update far too early on a Sunday. However, with alot of us Process and discipline are far more important than results. Which you seem to be well on the way to mastering especially considering where you've come from.

Cheers mate. Yes I’m in a real good place with the not punting/gambling.
I’m using Stuart’s strategy as in the idea behind it but there are many a game that I don’t trade on Stuart’s list. I am only trading between 3.5-4.1 as I worked out that was the sweet spot for me. Also I am not trading all those either especially at this stage of the season. I will break them down further based on motivation. As you said to me many a time “master one strategy”. I know I am effectively doing two but one set and forget and one Inplay.

Less is definitely more and I hope it continues

Red month, but mentally your in a place when your not punting/gambling anymore. For example we know the masters lay was potentially a huge loss yet it only won 1.96 we are getting rid of these now. These things are getting ironed out of your trading. Your focussing on quality games that fit your select strategy. The results will come. Just also remember this is a very random period of trading. The transition between winter and summer leagues can produce strange results. Stick to games with motivation, even they will have strange results but more consistent than the others. Im sure once we hit the swedish leagues etc popping on your lists we will see a change in fortunes mate. It sucks when your trading someone else's strategy its why mentally i cant do it and why i only focus on my own i know the ins and outs, its good to see that your own strategy managed a profit. Keep it up 👍 in the losing times thats when we test ourself if this can work long term, if we end up not chasing and remain consistent that proves we can do it long term. That side of things took me a while to understand. But you build from a base then improve mentally and then boom its a snowball effect and im looking forward to reading when you hit that stage.

I was not great with excel/google sheets myself mate. I just did a lot of investigating and googling. Also asking a lot of questions. The running graph is very important for me as is the projection graph. It shows how far I have come and how far I can get if I keep the discipline.
    Best of luck mate.

Hiya mate, I’ve also decided to keep a spreadsheet diary for my trades, I’m not great with excel so it’s not as advance as yours but I like the idea of the running total graph, there is something about seeing your progress in that format that keeps you focussed long term ratcheting than focussing on your day to day profit and loss, I’m definitely going to look into adding that to mine.

    Best of luck mate 👍🏼

Thanks Daniel. I was in the same place you were last June. Like a kid in a sweetie shop. Too much choice. Focus on one or two strategies and work on them.

@eamonn-hogan you’re doing so so well dude. I’ve been around here since last June, and whilst I have learned TONNES, I’ve definitely not properly put everything in to this and been as disciplined as I should be, and my overall P/L says that.

When life gets a bit clearer, I’ll definitely be reading this blog more frequently and in a more detailed way - theres some gold in here and you’re smashing it!

    1st May

Been quiet on the blog this week as I have been flat out busy at work.

A poor end to the month with a few losses in the LTD brought my good April to end in a loss. My first losing month! Only a small loss of 1.1% but a loss all the same. -5.71 points in the last 7 days with this strategy and a total of -6 for the month.

-2.45 in my Back another goal for the same period but a total of +2.21 for the month.

I made +6.61 points in "other strategies"
    The Masters Lay Zalatoris 1.96
Champions League PSG to qualify 0.67
RBC Heritage Golf Back Cink 1.32
Serie A Lay Spezia when 1-0 up against Inter 0.98
Serie A Lay Parma when 0-1 up against Juventus 0.98
Primeira Liga Lay Belenenses 0-2 against Sporting 1.96
Bundesliga Lay Mainz 2-0 up against Bayern -3.22
    Zurich Classic Lay Finau/Champ 0.98
Champions League First Half Goal PSG V Man City 0.98

Although that adds up to 2.82 I made a loss of 1.1 points as I made a few changes around the second week of the month by dropping a few strategies.

I done a outright trade in the snooker which I greened up after a few rounds to make 2.5 points no matter who wins. My max liability in this was 4 points.

I am up 202 points since August and well ahead of where I want to be. I feel I am getting more disciplined every month and focusing on one or two strats is definitely helping.

Today was a good day with 3 trades in the LTD and +2.94 points green. Good start to the month. Onwards and upwards.

    Wednesday 21 April

    LTD
    Tokio Verdy Kyoto Sanga 0.98
    Tochigi Albirex Niigata -2.50
    St Johnstone Rangers -2.90
    Aberdeen Celtic -3.10
    Aston Villa Manchester City 0.98

    -6.54

I laid Spezia when they went 1-0 up against Inter 0.98
I laid Parma when they went 0-1 against Juventus 0.98

    1.96

    Todays total -4.58

Rangers conceded a 94th minute equailiser and Celtic scored in the 93rd minute to equalise. Today could have been much better but Shamrocks scored the winner in the last minute last night to give me a point so it will all level up throughout the year.

The main thing my discipline is at the best its ever been and I am only focused on certain trades. Not getting involved in trades just for the sake of it.
