Tonight sees the return of Redzone and "Seven Hours of Commercial Free Football" and I for one cannot wait.
No really kept track so much this offseason although from a personal point of view great to see Dak back firing on all cylinders on Thursday even if we did lose.

NFL Schedule is released at 1am tomorrow morning. Hopefully we get the international games announced
You think there will be international games this year. I reckon there will be nothing official until 2022 unless Jags move a couple of games of there own accord.
Hope I’m wrong

@chris-osborne excellent write up. Very much enjoyed reading this.

NFL Draft starts tonight one of my favourite weekends of the year what is any one thinking wanting to see for there teams?
From everything I've read, the top two picks in QB's Trevor LAwrence and Zach Wilson to the Jags and Jets respectively seem to be locked in. Pick's 3 and 4 to the 49ers and Falcons are going to shape the rest of the draft especially where the remaaining 3 1st round QB's are selected: -
49er's have to take a QB - Garropol is injury prone and a free agent after this season, they have a choice of Justin Fields, Mac Jones or Trey LAnce none of whom should start this season if the teams that draft them have any sense. The track record of Ohio State and Alabama QB's drafted leaves a lot to be desired but I doubt that would be a criteria. For me I would take Lance but I think Fields will be the pick here. The concern for LAnce is he has only played one game in the last 12 months and he played at a lower level but he doesn't need to play this year.
The Falcons could go one of three way's, trade down and stockpile picks, take a QB to sit behind and learn from an ageing Matt Ryan or take Kyle Pitts TE from Florida who is rumoured to be the best player in the draft.
For me the Dallas Cowboys picking at 10 can go one of two ways either tske the best Defensive Player available ideally in the Secondary to help what was an awful defence last year or Offensive Line as our all conquering O'Line from the last 10 years is starting to break up either through injuries or retirements.
-
@chris-osborne I really like Fields, been following him since his high school days on that show QB1. That game he played again Clemson in the college semi-final was amazing, I don't think he is much like Haskins to be honest much better all round game.
Zach Wilson has a special arm, obvious questions as to whether than talent can be nurtured. If he was at 3 I would probably go for it but I doubt Dolphins will.
Trey Lance is good but the level he played at was a bit lower so hard to judge really.
-
@martin-futter fields is not an nfl starting QB the Ohio state track record at nfl level is awful Haskins etc.
Wilson is a possibility, I like the look of Trey Lance but he will need to sit behind a current starter for at least one season. Patriots or vikings probably a better fit there.
This is always assuming the Jags don’t do something stupid by not taking Lawrence first
-
@chris-osborne problem is Tua looked so shaky at the end of last season, I feel you almost have to give him another year as he was injured this time last year but it could be another lost season. My gut says he isn't it to be honest, but, with a full offseason and another year removed from injury he may be a different player.
the number three pick in the draft could be Justin Fields or Zach Wilson who I really like the look of but we can't really draft a QB with the unknowns. Would be better to have a high pick next season after we know who Tua is.
-
@martin-futter that’s the talk I’ve seen. I think the issue is how much they have to give up, minimum Tua and a tonne of high draft picks over next few years.
Risk v Reward especially in that division with the Bills likely to be strong again and the Patriots look like there going for one last shot at everything next year. Having said that, don’t understand signing Cam for another year
-
@chris-osborne 100% and keeping him is huge, imagine if he had of not signed that!!
Surely with the right trades now they can start to add some pieces for him?
Yep, the bears is a good shout starting to a few players Wilson would give them something too! Suppose Ciara will have a say in it too!
-
@ryan-carruthers I agree on Watson, think he’s going to be the key to a lot of things.
Can see Wilson going to the Bears, as a cowboys fan Prescott signing the new contract is massive, we just need to stop people and start replacing an ageing o line
-
@chris-osborne I agree on Winston, he was decent in that class when he first came through but hasn't really lived unto the hype.
Huge Watson fan with the right pieces around he'd be so good in the right team, the rams have a smart trade too - Stafford is going to do some good things for them I feel, Wilson I can see leaving Hawks (pains me) but the Hawks have known their problem for years and not fixed it - that O line gives little protection lol

New NFL year starts today meaning the start of Free Agency and trades already announced can become official.
Interest as ever going to be around the QB's with Drew Brees and Philip Rivers having retired and a number of other teams looking for upgrades. The draft class is deep at QB although there is a significant drop off after Trevor Lawrence who the JAgs must draft first if they have any sense.
With Dak Prescott having signed his new contract last week and Goff and Stafford essentially swapping teams and Wentz being traded to the Colts to replace (Jury our on that one), major focus is going to be around two of the best QB's in the league right now Deshaun Watson and Russell WIlson both of whom are reportedly seeking trades. Watson I completely understand as the Texans are in a mess and he would be a major upgrade on most QB's although the cost will be high. PAtriots, PAnthers, 49ers, Jets if they trade Darnold, and Redskins all have an urgent need at QB.
Saints woud be a perfect fit for Watson but they have no salary gap space they are expected to go with Jameis Winston who for me is a disaster of a QB.
