Just finished watching The Beastie Boys Story. Really good, funny guys and did a lot more for music and the world as a whole than many people would probably realise.
It's them in front of an audience telling the story and it gets quite teary at a point as there's only 2 of them left now. The 3rd and main inspiration died of cancer at 47.
Wholeheartedly recommend.
Watch through credits as well for some great extras and heckling by celebs in the audience.
Thanks for this recommendation. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Such an interesting story and amazing to see how many different genres they tackled.
Same here. I knew fight for your right to party pretty much and that was it haha! What struck me was how decent they seemed as people. Can't always say that.
Agree....they donβt give off a vibe now of once being a very famous group. They look like very regular guys.
There was a quote that has stuck with me from the show. When one of them was accused of being a hypocrite about a song they wrote that celebrated women following some lyrics in their early days that were derogatory to women and his response was something along the lines of βIβd rather be a hypocrite over still being that same guy years laterβ.
Adam Yauch, the one who died from cancer I think. Apparently he was a practising buddha at the end.
Yeah I remember that. Was about being able to grow as a person which illustrates exactly how I feel at the moment with the whole Sarah Everard story and understanding how badly women are subjected to unacceptable behaviour thoughout their lives.
Basically saying he isn't the same person as he was when he was a kid and I'm sure that applies (or certainly should do) to all of us as we gain a greater understanding of the world.

@richard-latimer Ahahah nice!! Yes mine are pretty chatty these days lol
It's not how chatty she is, it's how many times they are here. Several parcels a week at least and sometimes several a day ffs haha

@sean-fitzgerald Rrr I might give it a miss! The only thing is when the wife gets into a show she's not trying to get us to do jobs around the house lol
