Hi everyone. I'm Shane from the Fylde Coast in Lancashire and have been trading on and off for a good few years now with limited success. I've fallen in to the traps many times with clumsy decisions, for example when a price goes against you and you start praying for a goal and you just let the trade wonder off further in to the red. I just kept it going and tried to trade my way out of trouble by placing more trades on the opposite trying to reduce my all red damage. Before I knew it BANG, bank wiped out. Stayed off Betfair for a couple of years telling myself its not for me. When I finally got over it I started looking for sites like this one about a few months ago now. This one to me seemed to be the best one for my trading needs. I have learned a harsh lesson. I'll be honest it was over £400 lost in 1 trade. But having said that I was still up on Betfair but nothing to write home about. That trade just put me right off. One thing I didn't have back then was discipline. That is the key. I'm hoping to learn a lot from here and what ever I can contribute because I'm always looking for an edge and I am a strong believer in value.

Thanks Keith. Yeh I've gotten over the hard time of it now so its a new start. I'd like to think I've disciplined myself - fingers crossed lol.

@shane-heyworth Hi Shane! Don't give yourself a hard time for over trading. We all have done it and sometimes I still do on occasion. Just learn from it and move on. Don't be in a rush to reach your goals. Anyway, you know all this already - just put it into practice. Welcome to the community
