Hello Traders old and new . :)

Hi,
I started trading about5-6 years ago and from the right off, it was a flipping
disaster, lay the draw was the strategy, seemed like a licence to print money
at first. However ignorance, boredom and stupid selection criteria, lack of discipline soon saw my bank disappear to shrewder more savvy traders After that I didn't trade for a long time, I started again about two years ago, nothing regular just dip in now and again when I felt like it. I guess I am at the stage now where it's like I'm treading water not losing not winning just staying afloat. I have a couple of strategies I use mainly my favourite being where I lay the draw late in the market at 1.40 and then 1.20 nice payout for small liablity, obviously it's a bit more complex then that but thats it basically. Hope to learn better match selection and some strategies that will make me a better and more profitable trader overall. My weakness I would say is boredom when I'm trading and being, over optimistic in some of my selection choices. I'm glad I have found here and hope to start making a regular profit , overall. Looking forward to getting to know some of you better as the weeks go by. -
@keith-anderson Glad you do just checking out your possible qualifiers using your software filter, so hope to join you in that.

@simon hi ya, I didn't sign up to audible but I did buy an audio copy
off of audiobooks. for a lot cheaper then audible, thanks for tipping my mind in that direction though. -
@ryan-carruthers Hi, the biggest thing I've taken away from it so far
is that he's got my trading mind sussed when he talks about the four primary trading fears, I certainly have experinced all of them sometimes all in the same match, not so much now, but I did use to panic a bit when things seemed to be going the wrong way. But I have exit points now so the loss though sometimes bigger then I'd like is still acceptable. and tomorrow is another day and another oppurtunitty -

@steve-whelan hi Steve, I took out an Audible subscription and you get first month and book free, so managed to listen to trading in the zone during my commute for nothing +EV move
-
@steve-whelan yes its shot up in price! It is gold though, what's your biggest takeaway from it so far?

Thank you Ryan and Martin,
yes I was talking Football Martin. Heh heh I have never thought of
doing test cricket. Something I might try in a while when I've looked over some strategies and know more. Ryan enjoying the mentalitly videos, Did try and get the book Trading in the zone, but at Β£32.00 I thought it was a bit much, however I did find a free pdf copy, not as convinent to read on a kindle but Wth it's free.. Very clever bloke isn't he. So much info in each paragraph. I'm sure I'll have to read it severel times. Happy trading. -
@Steve-Whelan welcome good to have you on board!
I assume you are talking football?
Try it in test cricket that actually may be the closest thing to a sure profitable set and forget strategy as i have ever seen!
I love laying at short odds so you are on to something there

Welcome to the group, hopefully we can help you with the boredom. It is a trait of a lot of people with trading buddy, we all want to be busy trading away and doing something and filling the down time is tricky - so find a game just because. I think we can help
