It's that time of year again. Pimms and strawberries and cream are two traditions that don't really interest me but winning money trading the tennis is something that definitely does! Grand Slams are great for trading especially when big players fall a set or two behind as they often come back at very nice odds due to the extra sets available to them.

However, today I am going to talk about the outright market. It is difficult to find any real long shot value in this year's market. I'm annoyed that Cilic and Federer were drawn in the same half as Cilic is definitely a good contender here. Having won Queens and made the final here last year Cilic has had the perfect preparation for the tournament.

The bottom half of the draw looks wide open and although he does not look the same player he once was yet I would probably favour Djokovic to get out of it above everyone else but not enough to want to back him at 7.2.

King Roger was the class act last year steamrollering his way to the title and already has a 1/1 win record in Grand Slams this year. Usually he would not appeal to me but his price reaching 3.0+ has definitely caught my attention this time around, especially given the lack of real challenge from any up and coming young players at the moment. When you consider that Nadal was 1.5 to win the French and that Federer has won 8 Wimbledon titles (in 18 attempts) this does seem a good price, I would price him at 2.5 tops here.

So give me Fed with a smaller insurance stake on Cilic.

Back Roger Federer to win Wimbledon ar 3.0 main bet

Back Marin Cilic to win Wimbledon at 8.8 insurance bet

I totally agree with you here buddy, Fed always knows how to peak at this event and he loves it so much that it gives him that extra zip around here, it is such a mental game tennis that its played between the ears a lot of the time and it must be tough for some players to face Fed, especially early doors so I see him doing well in this year's tournament.

Cilic as well has the game for grass, he was so aggressive on the grass this year that if he takes that into Wimbledon we shall see a good trade here.
