Thanks for the feedback and emails, really pleased to see so many of you using the trading notes to make a good profit. Let's carry on!
Today's match previews:
Roger Federer vs Marin Cilic - First key note is that this match has no great significance as Federer has qualified for the semi-finals and Cilic cannot qualify. Federer leads the head to head 7-1 but they have never met on indoor hard. Federer will top the group with a win which would in theory give him an easier semi-final so he may be motivated to win despite this effectively being a dead rubber. Cilic has had close matches here this year and a lay of Federer if he wins the first set could be around 1.06 or less, so it would not be out of the question to lay given that Cilic has had close matches. I expect Fed to win in straight sets but as this match has little meaning will likely stay well clear of it.
Alex Zverev v Jack Sock - This is the big one today, win and you are into the semi-finals so a huge match for both players. The head to head is 1-1 but Sock won their only indoor match last year. Zverev has had two close 3 set matches this year so far, while Sock lost to Fed in straight sets but also beat Cilic in three sets. Sock has been in great hard court form coming into this tournament and cannot be taken lightly. Zverev is a class above Sock in terms of talent and 1.6 looks a value price as I would have him around 1.45 here. The only thing stopping Zverev is his mentality and if he does get ahead early you would be wise to take the profit, if Zverev takes the first set a lay of him may be a value play as his odds would be around 1.2 and Sock has made a lot of comebacks a set down on indoor hard recently (He has lost the first set 8 times and won the second set 6 times). Alternatively, I would lay Sock if he won the first set, I can't see Zverev going down here without at least a decent fight.
