As the international break is finished and normal service will be resumed on Friday let's concentrate on Tennis!
ATP Tour Finals in London Day 2 trading notes:
Grigor Dimitrov v Dominic Thiem
Keys to the match: Head to Head is 2-1 in Thiem's favour and 1-1 this season. Both matches this season went to three sets. They have never played against each other on indoor hard. Thiem did OK in London last year but was not spectacular, he took a close tie-break set from Djokovic but crumbled thereafter, lost comfortably to Raonic and edged Monfils in three sets. Dimitrov did not qualify for this tournament last year and so it is hard to say how comfortable he will find the surface. I fancy Dimitrov to win but think the odds are correct at the moment, if Thiem won the first set I would look to back Dimitrov. One more key thing for the live trading will be watching how comfortable Dimi is on the surface as if he looks very comfortable he could dominate this match and if 1.5+ is still available it could look very appealing.
Rafael Nadal v David Goffin
Keys to the match: Head to head is 2-0 to Nadal but both matches were on clay. Nadal withdrew from his last tournament injured once he had won the No 1 world ranking for the year guaranteed. Therefore, Nadal may not be fully fit or fully motivated here. Goffin has qualified for his first end of season finals but has not been in particularly great indoor form, losing to Tsitsipas and Benneteau recently. Goffin played one match here last year and was soundly thrashed by Djokovic. Rafa did not play here last year and has never done well at this tournament, never once winning it, despite the amount of times he has qualified. That said, a fit Nadal should win this match but any sign of injury, fatigue or a lack of motivation and he should be opposed at heavy odds on. Nadal would be a tempting back around evens if he goes behind early but I would have to see some real signs that he is not injured or demotivated.
