Hello Apprentice Sports Traders - Newbie Brian from Northern Ireland

Hello everyone, I'm a complete newbie sports trader and I'm pretty clueless at the moment. I had ยฃ200 in my recently opened Betfair account and I've been trading tennis (wta mainly) and I've managed to get my account down to ยฃ118. I joined BTC (Bitcoin???-lol) because I know that I need help. To say that I'm overwhelmed is an understatement, I feel like the proverbial rabbit caught in the headlight. So I'm breathing into this. "KISS - keep it simple stupid" is what I'm doing. I will follow a single football strategy, I watch Ryan's (he's funny af) Lay The Draw football yt vid and that's my starting point. The software looks extraordinary, I feel like a data god when I play around with it. So I'll be between being here on the forum and learning how to set up filters and compile all "what needs to happen" perameters for my lay to draw football strategy. Be well and happy everyone.

Hi Ryan, I've been getting to grips with Bet Angel Professional software for the past few days. Peter Webb is a very intelligent sports trader and he sounds like an absolute gentleman. So, I've had great fun trading horse racing for very small stakes; I realise that atm I have zero knowledge about that market and will reframe from trading it for the time being. So soccer trading is where I'm going to cut my teeth, most likely laying the draw (where is that market found on betfair? what's it called?) and the over/under 1.5, 2.5, and 3.5 markets. I'm tinkering with soccer mystic on Bet Angel Professional to learn as much as possible. I know Martin doesn't trade the football markets after a big international event (world cup), but with the small stakes that I'm using, I'll pick 5 markets to trade on (5 little pinkies on each hand are easy to count - lol) so that I can get a feel for trading.
Merry Christmas to you and your young families, Keith and Ryan. -
@keith-anderson I'll let you know that the flu is one of the funnier things you can get!

Thanks for getting back to me, I understand now. I'm going through the stats software vids, I will learn how to import ready made filters today. Keith, thanks for getting in touch, I'm delighted to hear that you're a full time sports trader who's making a living from doing it. I've been looking at various software interfaces with Betfair e.g. Bet Angel Professional, Geeks Toy and there's one more that I can't remember it's name atm. I'm not sure which one might suit me. I have to say that I'm delighted to have found BTC. All the very best with your trading Keith.

Yes! I'm from East Belfast and I support Glentoran.
I'm a full-time trader and I'm so happy I got involved in sports trading. It took me a good few years to get consistently profitable.
AU is basically an outcome not listed above. So, in the full-time scores section the AU could be a 4-4 or a 4-5 etc. The BTTS means Both Teams To Score

@keith-anderson Hi Keith, I'm from Limavady. I see you're from Belfast, good man. How are you enjoying sports trading? Keith, I was looking through the football statistics software and I saw AU at the bottom of historical stats table on the half/full time tab. Do you know what AU stands for? Also on the Over/Unders tab, I see BTTS at the bottom of the table, what does that mean? Thanks for you help, please keep in touch.
