Final group games in round two today!
First off I want to start with a warning, be careful as we get to the third round of games.
Lot's of teams will need differing results to progress to the knockout stages, I am always weary of teams who don't need to win.
Take England for example, Harry Kane saying what a good result it was to draw 0-0 with the USA.
That's the kind of mentality some teams will have in these final group games!
Cameroon v Serbia 10am
Cameroon didn't look any great shakes did they against Switzerland?!
That said we have seen a trend this tournament of teams looking better in their second game, if they didn't look great in the first.
Serbia were also a bit disappointing. I didn't think Brazil played that well and they won easily vs Serbia.
I wouldn't want to back Serbia at 1.82 here and they look a bit short to me.
That said I don't have confidence to take Cameroon from the outset.
Have a look early on and if Cameroon start well then a back at 5.4 or Serbia lay may look good value!
South Korea v Ghana 1pm
Feels like a draw doesn't it?!
Odds aren't great on that though at 3.2.
No strong feelings on this one prematch.
See who gains momentum and looks like they will win and back them!
Odds are so closely matched that you should get value in that instance.
Brazil v Switzerland 4pm
Brazil look short at 1.49 to me.
Maybe they are so short because Neymar isn't playing, does anyone else think he is overrated?
Genuinely can't remember any time I thought he was one of Brazil's best ever players.
Switzerland have a habit of doing well against good teams, just ask France in Euro 2022.
Look to see if the Swiss look solid early on and a lay of Brazil may be in order.
Portugal v Uruguay
Godin, Cavani and Suarez! What a great Uruguay team... 5 years ago!
I couldn't believe that these three are still in the national team, sometimes you have to let go.
Portugal actually impressed me, I backed them to win Euro 2020 based on their squad strength but avoided it this time around due to PTSD.
If Portugal realise their potential they should win this game, my only concern is a draw isn't the end of the world.
Or as we English must now think 'A draw against much lesser opposition is a great result!'
This is definitely a wait and see game for me, if it was a must win for Portugal I would love them above evens.
So I did a video yesterday on how momentum in international games seems to be more relevant to the result than in club football.
It's been very easy to predict who will score at certain points in this tournament so far.
When you are watching a game try to ignore the odds, see what is happening in front of you.
Even after the video aired look at the Spain v Germany game, when Spain went 1-0 up they let Germany come on to them, an equaliser looked likely!
There is plenty of money to be made from doing this.
I gave plenty of examples yesterday in the video, if you haven't seen it you really should check it out here:

Hi, Martin Being based in Australia we are prohibited from placing "In Play" bets. Just wondered if any other members had the same issue as it means I cannot undertake any strategy that requires placing a bet on Betfair after the game/race has started. Cheers Richard
