Welcome to the BTC Jason, you are in the right place to learn! Ask questions and interact with people here, everyone will offer help if they can and there are no stupid questions.

Liam is spot on with his advice, you will not go wrong following that. Get yourself comfortable with the software, it can be a little intimidating at first, just spend some time messing about on it to understand its capabilities.
Also get used to spreadsheets and tracking information. This is the only way for me I can trust placing a trade, if my data says yes check out the game, if it says no (league numbers are too low for example) ignore the game (track the results) and move on.

If you decide you want to create your own filter, Ryans 'What has to happen' question is something you should constantly ask yourself when you create it. Really helps to keep things simple.

Best of luck in your journey 👍

@jason-naylor the hardest thing to conquer is the mentality side of it personally for me i try to automate everything to take that side away. as for the filter i would look at the ht lay the draw as i think the before kick off leads to too many problems cashing out. for me i like everything simple so ht 0-0 1-1. i would set a filter up for a strong possibility for a shg and id want that at 80% minimum strike rate (have to collect data to know that) by having that you will be 1-more confident of a winning trade 2- any goal should leave you with a green screen (not 100% but close to it depending on time of goal) 3- any losses will be minimal as opposed to kick off. its all about building confidence. if you are struggling use a profitable members filter, garys shg is one of the best and under used on here. it has less trades but they are quality. just take your time and play around with the software and give yourself time.

@liam-willis Hi Liam, thank you so much for introducing yourself and yes you are so near. I will certainly take your comments onboard, and I think for a safe start for me I will learn HT LTD and LTD before kick off, as they seem pretty straight forward.

However, what I don't think is straight forward is setting up the filters for these. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated Liam.

I hope I'm still here in 3 years time and just want to conquer my frustration first, when a trade doesn't go my way, instead of doubling stakes or lumping on the next one to just play catch up, I have to learn to take it on the chin, get out when I'm supposed to and relax with it all.

hello mate and welcome im from harlow so a stones throw from you lol, my advice to you is forget about trying to make money at first, you need to concentrate on 1 strategy learn it inside out and collect as much data as possible. once you have gained confidence get on small stakes and compound it, only when you have got the confidence in the one strategy move on to another. Also if you have a filter track as many strategies within that filter as possible. i.e shg 2.5 goals fhg and 1.5 goals ect you will be surprised at how you expect 1 thing and it throws up another. Ive been on here 3 years and not long realised that this is the way forward i didnt listen to people on here giving me the same advice and i put myself back 3 years. good luck and dont be afraid to ask as many questions as you can, the community here is by far the best ive come across.
