    Hi all.

My names Phil and I live in Ireland. I work in the aviation industry, one of the industries that has been hugely devastated by COVID. I have been extremely fortunate though and held onto my job through all this, though it has given me a different perspective of my work live balance. To cut a long story short after been furloughed for nearly four months last year I was put onto a four day week. I loved it, so much more time for friends and family, hobbies and projects to do at home. I love my job but after over 10 years of long and at times very unsociable hours I have seen the light. I have since returned to a five day week but my goal here if possible is to make enough trading to supplement my wages if I get the opportunity to take on 4 day week again, which is a possibility next year at some point.

My Betfair trading background can be summed pretty easily. I opened a betfair account years ago and hadnt really a clue what to do. It remained dormant and idle for years, a bit like the Irish football team, but a few things since have peaked my interest again.

Firstly Football Index. I know the horror story that it turned out to be but I really enjoyed the concept and actually made quite a bit of money. I got out just as the wheels where about to come off with most of my profits in tact. Though the platform thought me the basics of trading which I have since taken to buying stocks and shares and also done quite well, though with very small amounts. Those profits have since been reinvested into my betfair bank.

I then got into matched betting just after the Euros this summer and I have really enjoyed that expeirience and have made a considerable amount of money. I do though realise it wont last forever hence me revisting betfair again.

I really want to focus prodomentaly on the over 1.5 and over 2.5 goals markets. I have been trading small stakes the last month or so but as the saying goes I am threading water, up one week down the next and not really going anywhere. I am quite a patient person though which I feel may help me in the long run with betfair, though my decision making on which trades to take needs improving and I am hoping that the stats software on the site can help me narrow my selections down as I feel at times that I nearly have to much choice without a proper filter. Those things are probably making me overtrade when there obviously is no need to. I am sure thats not the only thing holding me back but hopefully by going through the forums will help me iron out other bad habits or trading patterns that I have.

Anyway, looking forward to using the site, the first impressions after a quick look around are excellent.

    Phil

@philip-thornton great to have you here! let's get to that 4 day a week target, I think it does make the world of difference being able to have that extra day off!
