Hey Guys.
Andy here from Melbourne, Australia.
Have been an aspiring cricket trader for well over a year, maybe even 2. Dabbled in betting through all my adult life but have only taken a more serious approach to in the last 2 years.
A betting geek I consume a lot of content, whether it's the btc podcast, business of betting, betfair, YouTube vids or mental game audio books. Anything that I feel will make me a better trader.
Have been a keen lay better for a long time, not always profitable but keen at least. Got introduced to trading through matched betting which I loved but was obviously not sustainable.
Reason for signing up is investing in myself and also networking. Really just wanting to get started on this journey. Not just researching and watching/listening from the sidelines. Time to launch now.
My trading interest is cricket.
- Enjoy all formats of the game
- Happy to watch games, consume content on the games.
- Liquidity
Etc etc
To be honest I don't have much interest in trading other sports. Whether it's time, knowledge or simply lack of interest or a combination of all.
Have enjoyed looking through the forum in the 24hours I've been a member and keen to read more.
Any tips or insights are always appreciated.
Cheers.

@dan-mackinnon. I say good read, I should of said good listen. I got the audio book and listened to it at work lol.
-
@andy wow, that was quick! Glad you liked it
-
@dan-mackinnon. Thanks for the book recommendation, was a good read with a lot of good take outs.
-
@Andy Lovely, a lot of that is Martin. I can't take any credit for that!
-
@dan-mackinnon. Cheers for that Dan. I'll take a look through.

@andy the first time I read Thinking Fast and Slow I thought it was amazing. I keep meaning to read it again. If I could recommend just one book it'll be Thinking in Bets by Annie Duke.
If you go to the cricket thread and scroll back to just before the WC a few traders talked through their strategies.
-
@Andy Yes I found the same with that one was too dry for me lol
Psychology of money is a cracker and not a boring read buddy, not 100% about trading but about the management of money and I got a lot of takeaways from that one.

@ryan. Thanks Ryan. Would love to hear book recommendations on mental game or any other literature you think may help? I've read trading in the zone which I thought was brilliant. I do have thinking fast thinking slow which I haven't finished yet. Tbh I'm struggling getting through it, it's a pretty dry read.

@andy this is a hell of an intro.
Love you’ve decided the time is now to act and you want to invest in yourself.
The cricket thread is a really great thread to start with then. I’m not a cricket trader so can’t help with the sport but the mentality I can 100%.
