Who you are?
- I am Mal from Norfolk although originally from York in North Yorkshire.
What stage are you at in your trading journey
- I am at a very early stage. I started having a little go on Betfair a few months ago before discovering matched betting. I then concentrated on that for a month or so before thinking this seems a little more hassle than trading and certainly way less of an adrenaline rush. Therefore less fun. I am now trying to swap back to trading but I am big enough to admit I need lots of help. I just needed to find a friendly bunch of people that would help me. I hope I have found it and grow my knowledge here.
What's your background?
- In terms of betting and trading as above. Otherwise just an average bloke. I like footy and rollercoasters! My employment background is design engineering. Currently in the animal feed mill area.
Why did you join BTC?
- Again as above I just need advice, useful tools and a little help. This seems like the best place after spending much time watching youtube videos that seem to have the main aim of directing you to their expensive courses. Talking to people on forums has to be better than that right? Oh and the great tools on this site should also help me.
What do you hope to get from the community?
- New friends and great advice from more experienced people than myself.
What are some of your trading goals?
- I don't know if this is a good idea or not. If it's too much or not. While matched betting I set myself a monthly target of £300.00. This would be a nice extra amount and shouldn't take too much time. I am achieving this matched betting and would now like to swap over to trading that amount over the coming months. After that I hope to try and increase that amount over time. Eventually who knows. Maybe retire a little early (currently I am 48). Maybe that's unrealistic but I am dam well gonna try!

I think my first step is find a strategy that suits me and stick to it. I am gonna look into one of the 2nd half goals strategies on the filters.
