Hello.
New member, signing in.
Not sure if this section is working, as there dont appear to be too many posts. Anyway ..
I came across the forum, maybe 2 yrs ago, but couldn't possibly think about paying anyone for this sort of service. I still have my doubts, but, whats to lose ?
2 things pushed me over the edge .. Ryan on the Business of Betting podcast, and a late goal, in a game I was drip laying the draw, after watching a strategy video on youtube.
I have been with Betfair for the duration, and have won a lot - from the early days of horse pre-race trading/to in-running, when it was a licence to print/to today.
I now specialise in cricket, and probably watch 200 games a yr live.
In this journey, I have found many strategies which I would like to automate - and its not an easy process. Maybe I will find someone, who can help etc.
I rarely now bet on anything else, having lost more than was healthy, on various stock market adventures.
You will find me in the cricket forum, and maybe other general stuff .. dont give a fig about football.
Have done a lot of work, with the Betfair Historical data .. and its possible, this will lead to tennis betting this yr. Will post examples in the cricket forum.
I am v communicative, and will help .. but, if its a one-way street, then, that might be a problem.
Lets see etc

@Michael-Stadler
Welcome to the group, thank you for listening to the Podcast - that was a lot of fun doing the podcast.
Automating is one thing we have been doing recently @John-Folan is becoming a beast on Bet Angel, I am looking at having some stuff coded to automate for me, will share if anything comes of it - happy to discuss automation with you as well.
We have tennis software dropping very shortly which will help to people's trading & there is some brilliant cricket guys in here!
Looking forward to seeing you around the forum.
You are very right, the early days were golden, it really was simple to take money from the exchanges.

Welcome Mike,
Good to come across another cricket trader. I'm currently developing my own cricket database which will assist me mainly with test cricket which is where the biggest edge is in my opinion.
Anyway look forward to it.

Thx
I am also a hands-on trader .. but, the sheer volume of games, and potential missed opportunities, think this is a mistake.
The stat viewer I am developing (its by no means finished, thou, its working), will be transportable to other sports. Tennis will be attempted .. thou, i am not sure I will have much ready for the Aus open, as the lead programmer had a family emergency, which has taken a lot of time out of his schedule.
I will expand in the relevent threads.
Thx for the welcome.

@John-Folan and @Adam-Williams are the guys to speak with about automation, there may be others but it is not my personal strong suit as I like to trade myself.

Hi @Michael-Stadler welcome to the group, good to have you on board. I guess as you are a successful trader the biggest benefits will be the community of other traders. @Luke-Ridger and @Richard-Futter are also great cricket traders so hopefully you will get something from them. If you are interested in Football or Tennis (being released for the Aussie Open) we have trading statistics software built for them which is another reason people have joined us and enjoyed the service we provide. We will get cricket on board one day but Horses and backtesting strategies are our 2018 software updates.
