    @Adam-Murphy

That positive disposition is responsible for a lot of things you know! I've wore many people down with it, well done for lasting so long. I joke...

It's hard though isn't it to admit that we dont really know, I heard Tony Robbins on a podcast talking about when he realised he needed to be around people who were at the level he wanted to be at then it all changed for him, James Milner also mentioned this when talking of being called up to the England squad.

Being around players of a higher level made him level up his game.

@Martin Hi Martin, thanks for the email.

I have just finished all of Adams video on the Horse racing and have watched the intro clips 1-4 from Ryan. Are they the Supertrader ones?

Determine to use minimal stake before stepping up as that is what alwasy catches me out. Do you have any further bankroll management pieces, i saw what was in the 1-
    4 from Ryan.

    Cheers! Adam

    @Ryan I'm not sure really

I guess your positive disposition just wore me down!

In truth I think it was probably my ego, thinking that I knew what i was doing and that I can work it out myself, however despite periods of doing really well, lack of discipline and adherence to set strategy has ultimately let me down. And I have been doing this a long time now, so am really kicking myself for not having it buttoned down.

And its just been going on too long. I've really enjoyed the content from Martin, Adam and yourself, so here I am.

looking forward to getting stuck in.

    thanks for your reply mate.

    Cheers, Adam

    HI Everyone,

Have just joined today having viewed the BTC content on and off for a year.

i finally got tired of consistent losing. i am 45 and have been following horses and football for 30 years.

Some good years, some bad years. Some decent highs, but there is definitely money only going one way long term. i am determined to ensure that stops so have joined the Racing Trader, am going through the tutorials now.

Any early suggestions from other members to maximise my chances of success are greatly received. I am working through all of the videos now.

Many thanks and best of luck, Adam

@andrew-page I was using GG Poker as at lower stakes the bad beat free entry made good profit even if I had a bad run.

@Martin not as easy these days getting too old to do it for any sustained period too mentally draining
Holdem its easy but game becomes boring
used to win the cash race daily on betfair when not working just my luck im about to go unemployed and they stopped it lol
and the days of 80% rakeback is gone no point anymore odd tourney to relieve boredom
researching horses takes up a big chunk of time and i only lay favourites im a manual trader as well

@andrew-page yes that's where I see the similarities, I've done quite well at PLO because I think the odds are much easier to follow with the pot limit. I find Hold-Em too wild because someone can just shove at any point.

@Martin playing the cards it’s all all about pot size and percentage chance of hitting
Are you getting the money in +ev or -ev if I’m only getting 2/1 a 3/1 shot over time I will lose pure maths
But there’s variables player tendencies do they call flop but give up at later stages your bets are questions how opponents react is answers

My trading on football tends to be based on set odds if I’m getting 1.5 a 1.2 shot I know even if lose I’m winning because over time variance evens out well that’s what I’d like to think haha

I know a few poker players who are very successful on betfair

@andrew-page amazing! Welcome to the group! Tell me more about being a pro poker player? I often talk about how poker relates to trading in terms of odds/value etc.

    Who you are?

    • Danny

    Where you are from?

    • Good old Hull, known as 'Ull to its residents.

What stage are you at in your trading journey

    • I've been in and out of trading for a few years. Tried football and horses but never really stuck to it or found a method to make it a success. I used to follow various tipsters on Twitter to some degree of success but I've now found myself limited on all bookies other than Bet365.

    What's your background?

    • Coming up to 10 years working as a software engineer. Currently working in the risk detection and analysis sector. Trying to use my programming skills to help with Betfair automation. Have made various bots and written software previously to place bets using the Betfair API but they've never been anything too complicated, just set and forget bets.

    Why did you join BTC?

    • The software really drew me here, from the YouTube videos I've seen it looked fantastic from the POV of creating and back tested horse racing systems. I was particularly drawn to the trade out functionality. Thats something I have not seen offered elsewhere. Likewise with others here none of my friends really understand the concept of trading on Betfair and if I was to discuss it with them they'd probably immediatly assume im some kind of addict. (f**k maybe I am?) (just kidding)

What do you hope to get from the community?

    • To learn from everyone here! Then once I feel as though I have something to add and contribute I'll be for sure doing that. I also like accountability so if I do stumble upon something that looks and seems promising I'll be sure to start a thread and update it every now and again.

What are some of your trading goals?

    • Goal 1: To have a profitable horse racing strategy that is fully automated.
    • Goal 2: To find a profitable low odds horse racing lay strategy, not sure why but I just like laying horses.
