Hi BTC
My name is William O'Connor born an rise welsh boy from Cardiff' i have been interested in trading for about a good 4 or 5 years now. The thought of being able to make money from home an possibly doing it for a living being your own boss really is amazing. So first i looked into the financial markets and pretty much done some silly things lost money i couldn't afford not really understand what i was doing so i stop after wasting more then a year in and out of it with no consistency.
Then i came across to the match-betting at first i was skeptical to think i could really make easy money or even win every time no matter the outcome of my bets it was amazing its was the best thing since slice bread lol. i was making an easy 200+ a week i've heard that some people have made a hell of a lot more than that if squeeze every last drop out of the offers. But after time i realize that this wasn't scale-able plus after while the bookmakers start to limit your accounts so enough it will come to a stop sooner or later it was really nice while it lasted.
One of the best things i did start to learn or i glad i came across was the betfair exchange i had heard of betfair trading before even before i did match betting but thought it was impossible to be able to trade sports like financial instruments and make money from trading the sports we all love to watch and bet on. i learned the basic of how betfair works i jumped straight into football trading after watching quite alot of people on youtube lay the draw thinking i love football i no what i'm talking about boy i was wrong. i lost 2 banks of a few hundred very quickly i didn't have a staking plan or bank management it was a disaster. i quit stop everything i was doing and didnt even do any sports trading again for months.
But i just couldnt get it out of my head that this is that chance to learn i skill that could enable me to be able to work form home mainly be my own boss so i been back at now for over six months i've been mainly trying to learn to trade scalp pre horse racing but i'm not consistently profitable as of yet still a lot to learn. also for past two months i've got back into the football trading i love the sport and i really enjoy trading it i want to make it work keep learning and work my way to becoming i profitable sports trader one day part/full time professional. i am a slow learner as you can see from my past and my writing is terrible lol. This is why i choose to join BTC besides the stats software looks the bee needs i hope your guys can help me go along the right path to trading sports profitably.
Main things to note i need to improve alot on is my mentality when trading and don't to be scared to ask for help.

Joined BTC to get some guidance and learn from the best
Hoping to get some pointers and bounce some ideas around see if I'm heading in the right direction
Long term goal is to go full time, for now just to learn as much as I can and produce some consistency

Just joined and looking forward to getting to know everyone.
Been match betting but only since March this year. However, I know that is limited and want to learn more about trading on betfair.
I've watched some videos already but there is a lot to learn but I'm going to take my time and get to grips with it slowly.
In the meantime, does anyone have a P & L spreadsheet template I could have?

Hi I’ve just joined btc.
I’m new to trading but have spent 2 reasonably successful years matched betting but have got to the point when the bookies don’t want to play with me anymore.
I’m originally from stoke on Trent but now live in Malaga Spain.
I’m going to spend the next few days looking through the posts and info on here. Then start to give it a try.Thanks

Hi Michael, welcome, it’s great to have another person representing Essex! I’m only 20 miles up the road from you!
You mention not being a great talker when not face to face, trust me this is a great community and after a couple of weeks you’ll find it difficult not to interact with everyone on the forum. There’s so much good stuff and advice going on (with a bit of banter thrown in).

Just right! I prefer Judaism anyway, so the political aspect of Northern Ireland doesn't really concern me.
