@jim_saywer welcome Jim good to have you here, some essential reading for you (if you follow my advice you will never lose 50% of your bankroll on one trade!) https://betfairtradingcommunity.com/en/blog/bankroll-and-bet-staking

Hi all,
I joined a few weeks ago and wanted to introduce myself. I've looking at trading for a about 6 months after a working through match betting offers. Before then I'd never been into a bookies or even placed a bet so completely green to it all.I've mainly been trading tennis and after losing half my bank on Williams v Halep at Wimbledon (how did Williams not get a single break??) I've been reassessing my approach. I'm tending toward focusing more on automation rather then live trading as it seems to fit better with my intended life style with 2 young kids.
I'd like to develop some solid startegies with the help of BTC to generate a second income at take the pressure off from having to work for the man (Aerospace Engineering).
Cheers,
Jim -
Thanks all. Norwich City? Is that a rugby team Martin?

@david-crisp Hi David, great to see some more new people like myself here, good luck with everything!

Who you are? Ben, car salesman that started with match betting and now looking to progress into trading.
Where you are from? Leicester, UK.
What stage are you at in your trading journey: Early doors. Currently done 43 LTD games, off my own back using best judgment and currently up £222, would have been £400+ if it wasn't for a few pesky results.
What's your background? Love sports. Got into matched betting and used it as a high interested bank account, now want to earn more for my time inputted
Why did you join BTC? Seemed like the best community
What do you hope to get from the community? Knowledge from the members and good picks
What are some of your trading goals? 20-30k a year profit would be niceQuick question if you don't mind, on the statistics picker, when using members filters it obviously comes up with all the selections that fit the criteria, I've never entered a trade without the market being above 25k traded. If I set the filter to only show above 25k it barely shows any games. What's the general rules for money traded in the market?

Good Day All
I'm David and new here, (two weeks or so).
Live in Norfolk, not far from Norwich.
I work part time in the construction industry and am working on something internet retail based as I gear down to retirement.
Have been trading and betting on and off for many years. Haven't lost or gained anything much except experience and a fair bit of knowledge of what not to do and what (sometimes) works for me.
Had a bit of success scalping horses but often failed on discipline and found it too frantic. Also with the Betfair outages getting more common (it seems anyway) I seem to have been on the wrong side of many more than right.
This site looks mainly focused on football, which I know very little about.
For my own part I am looking to lay horses, which as I've spent most time on and feel learning a whole new sport (football or tennis) may be a bridge too far having not completely mastered the horses after so many years. -
New Member - Steven Grzywacz From Reigate.
Who you are? Steven Grzywacz, like quite technical but also creative stuff/work, various sports (esp. SUP surfing currently), staying healthy, PC games, and amusing people.
Where you are from? Guildford originally, lived abroad in Norway and Holland as a kid, have been back in the UK near London for ages, and find it excellent down here.
What stage are you at in your trading journey: literally right at the start. Have learnt loads by recently starting matched betting. Knowing that gubbing will eventually happen, I thought learning about trading properly is an even more interesting and logical next move.
What's your background? Studied Zoology at Leeds, via tonnes of ridiculous/sh*te jobs ended up doing digital marketing in my brother and I's company, then for others (sometimes quite horrendous experience), now back to working in my original company where we create our own quality products to sell online in places like Amazon.
Why did you join BTC? Is the only place where I think you can actually learn the important nuts and bolts of trading, at any level, and can ask whatever you like with a group of similarly interested people. Maybe I'm wrong, but there seems to be nothing else like it.
What do you hope to get from the community? Enough information to start trading, seeing results, and eventually get profitable whilst having an excellent community to share thoughts with, find out, or create, new things and help everyone live better
What are some of your trading goals? I'm totally new, so things are not so clear right now. Understand the basics, choose what sport and times are best, start simple, do some trades, eventually pay for BTC's subscription, ultimately get profitable and develop new things, bounce some ideas around with others to create amazing results, and help others along in the process. Automation seems like the future, would be good to try that when ready.

The second was just a week after the referendum:)When I first saw the woman in the evening, come out to the balcony directly next to my hotel window and start hit pan with the spoon for some few minutes without break,I thought something bad happened to her psyche. But when from cafe other dishes musicians joined,i realized that it was a form of protest.:D
