@Dave-Jessop , @Keith-Anderson i am a united fan how did you guess?
....Leeds United that is! (Long story and a decision I’ve regretted many times over the last 15 years but stuck with them now and in a sadistic kind of way they are a great team to support, never a dull moment)

I joined BTC about a month ago but at first I was a little skeptical and wasn’t sure if I’d stick around so haven’t done this intro until today. Since joining I’ve been blown away by how collaborative and supportive the forum is, I was expecting a load of bragging and trolling from members but haven’t seen any of this which is a key reason I’m sticking around
Who are you? Will Byers (not the kid from “Stranger Things” that stole my name!)
Where are you from? Originally from Belfast, now Manchester
What stage are you at in your trading journey? Pretty early. I started matched betting last year and did quite well but despite my best mug betting efforts I’ve been gubbed by many bookies so I wanted to find something which is sustainable longer term. I used to do a bit of pre-match scalping with moderate success several years ago but didn’t really have any method or rules so I’d like to improve my knowledge and discipline in this area as well as branching out into other trading strategies, mainly football. It’s very much a hobby for me rather than anything more serious.
Whats your background? Accountant, and sadly one of the things I enjoy about trading is tracking things on spreadsheets and analysing the results
Why did you join BTC? Having seen the quality of some of the terrible trading “advice” available free via a google search and having listened to excellent the BTC podcasts for some time I thought I’d give it a whirl.
What do you hope to get from the community? Learn from people who actually know what they’re doing and hopefully one day give something back
What are some of your trading goals? My current goal is simply to learn as much as I can without losing money, so break even is fine. I’m even happy to lose a bit if it means I am learning what not to do next time. Hopefully within a year or so I’ll have a few systems which I am comfortable are profitable in the long term and start to build my bank.All the best people are from Belfast #Fact

@richard-donohoe
Welcome to the group matey, I think we will be able to help you with that. Lay the draw is still one of the most profitable strategies in my opinion - especially backed up with stats - with the stats we have you can save games that have been 0-0 at HT and have high % chance of second half goals.

@stewart-perrie

Who are you? Richard Donohoe
Where are you from? Harrogate North Yorkshire
What stage are you at in your trading journey? At the beginning really. Joined betfair about 6 months ago and have been trading off my phone with no automation. mostly laying the draw and trying to predict very late goals in games.
Whats your background? I am a heating engineer.
Why did you join BTC? Ive consumed lots of content on the internet and podcasts. This seemed like the best place for me to learn from other people willing to share there experience.
What do you hope to get from the community? To learn how to use the stats filters and improve my trading with the help of other members.
What are some of your trading goals? Researching sports and trying to predict what might happen is something I enjoy but I will admit the idea of making some money in my spare time is appealing.Thanks

Who are you? Stewart Perrie
Where are you from? Bathgate, Scotland
What stage are you at in your trading journey? Dabbled a bit in last 6 months but more experience Matched Betting and Gambling
What's your background? Finance (Pensions & Complaints)
Why did you join BTC? I felt there was far too many videos and websites claiming to be experts and BTC reviewed really well, so felt it was the best place to start.
What do you hope to get from the community? To learn how to trade starting with small stakes and try and get a good foundation for trading in future. I hope to learn from experienced people and avoid common beginner mistakes
What are some of your trading goals? I spend a lot of time studying form, markets and matching bets. I would love to cut that time down and get more quality and less quantity. I hope to learn the basics and turn a good ROI
Cheers -
@ryan-millard
Wicked, what uni?
Ok, so the first place I would look to do is read through the tennis trading thread and see what others are doing and try to delvelop an understanding for what others are doing and go from there matey I am always on that thread too and will answer and help.
-
I currently trade tennis markets as I have a history in playing tennis as a sport so I understand that game quite well and what can Impact the game, however I feel that I am not confident in understanding what is a good entry point/exit point for trading these markets,
Also I am studying Architecture -
@ryan-millard Hello! Welcome to the community,
What are you studying?
What sports do you know already and when are you able to trade? These are a good indicator on when you will be able to trade and what market we can help advise you on
-
Hi guys, my names Ryan Millard, I'm 19 and currently a student,
Im extremely new to trading and want to try and do it as a hobby/side income while studying for abit of extra cash, so far I haven't had much success and lost about £100 so was just wondering what steps I should be taking to getting started and what market is good to trade ? -
@scott-kyle hahaha hopefully mate, he who dares and all that!
-
@chris-saville similar to me chris.. hopefully in a few years we will have made our millions
-
@ryan-carruthers thanks ryan.. up the imps

Who are you? Chris Saville
Where are you from? Bradford
What stage are you at in your trading journey? Complete nooby, not placed a single trade yet just been doing research, watching videos, reading books, watching odds during games looking at potential places to trade when I think a game is going to turn a certain way etc.
What's your background? Been matched betting for around two years, still do a bit of it but been gubbed on most accounts now and have been thinking of making the plunge into trading for a while. From my experience of matched betting on horses I felt like I was quite good at reading odds movements and very often scalped money by monitoring the odds changes.
Why did you join BTC? I think it was Can Berry who first made me aware of BTC although I can't remember exactly, it was a couple of months ago I first heard of it so have now decided to take the plunge after deciding this is really what I want to do.
What do you hope to get from the community? I want to learn learn learn, every single person on here will know more than me in most aspects of trading so what better place to learn from really.
What are some of your trading goals? The dream goal is to become a full time trader, however I know this will take a lot of work, patience and ability to adapt and learn. This is really what I want to do for a living, 34 years old and I'm doing a job I don't really enjoy and have zero passion about still, I even went part time a few years back as I couldn't do with a full week of it. So being able to trade full time and then have the potential to move to another country and do it there would be the ultimate. Definitely feel like I am ready to throw myself 100% at it as I have no other commitments in my life at the moment either.
