- Good old Hull, known as 'Ull to its residents.
What stage are you at in your trading journey
- I've been in and out of trading for a few years. Tried football and horses but never really stuck to it or found a method to make it a success. I used to follow various tipsters on Twitter to some degree of success but I've now found myself limited on all bookies other than Bet365.
What's your background?
- Coming up to 10 years working as a software engineer. Currently working in the risk detection and analysis sector. Trying to use my programming skills to help with Betfair automation. Have made various bots and written software previously to place bets using the Betfair API but they've never been anything too complicated, just set and forget bets.
Why did you join BTC?
- The software really drew me here, from the YouTube videos I've seen it looked fantastic from the POV of creating and back tested horse racing systems. I was particularly drawn to the trade out functionality. Thats something I have not seen offered elsewhere. Likewise with others here none of my friends really understand the concept of trading on Betfair and if I was to discuss it with them they'd probably immediatly assume im some kind of addict. (f**k maybe I am?) (just kidding)
What do you hope to get from the community?
- To learn from everyone here! Then once I feel as though I have something to add and contribute I'll be for sure doing that. I also like accountability so if I do stumble upon something that looks and seems promising I'll be sure to start a thread and update it every now and again.
What are some of your trading goals?
- Goal 1: To have a profitable horse racing strategy that is fully automated.
- Goal 2: To find a profitable low odds horse racing lay strategy, not sure why but I just like laying horses.

Hi every one, i'm Martyn, i live in High Wycombe, i've made a few trades on lay the draw (and done quite well on it) but apart from matched betting that's all i've done. My background is in the HGV industry from driving around Europe to now being a manager/transport manager at a well known breakdown company. The reason i've joined BTC is due to searching for content on youtube for matched betting i came across some of BTC's content, watched them, found them interesting and realised it could be something i'd be good at (as i'm interested in analytics in my current role) . I'm hoping to get some help to understand the ins and outs of trading from the community and i suppose my goal is to be a profitable trader and not make too many mistakes.

All football for me. I used to 'Lay the Draw', but I'm constantly on the go, so it no longer suits my trading style. I would normally trade the Over 1.5 Goals market and the SHG market.

@Akiva-Anderson yeah amazed how easy the border is to cross it wasn't that clear when exactly we even did! Haha my hire car said any damage was £2500 regardless of the incident so you can imagine the stress I was feeling

lol. I've a hired car at the moment as my old car is getting fixed and my new car hasn't arrive yet (ordered it 10 months ago)!
I'm not allowed to drive my car over the border (there isn't a physical border) without written permission from the hired company! Stupid!
