Hey all, my name's Jim but everyone calls me Twig. Including the wife so I'm definitely stuck with the name!
I'm brand new to trading, been watching a lot of videos and reading here soaking up as much info as possible. However I'm not new to football knowledge! I've done like many others and come to trading from matched betting, though I actually only stumbled across that in the new year. I started with a bank of £500 and have built up to 3k. I'm still doing the matched betting but have now got my routine down to an hour or so a day leaving me with plenty of time.
I'm a carpenter by trade and work obviously dropped off when the pandemic started. Then the kids have been off and it was easier for me to be at home. Well I've decided I much prefer making a living sitting at home, doing my woodwork as a hobby and side business. No more killing myself for a basic wage that I KNOW I can better by trading. Well at least with some help from you guys!
I'm dedicated to making this work. I have the time to learn. I understand it's a marathon and not a sprint and not just to jump on any and every game.So to begin, I think I'm going to start with Ryan's split stakes over 1.5 goals strategy. As I said, I'm a total beginner at this so more than happy to take absolutely any advice and pointers.
I hope to be here for a long long time making money with you all and hopefully being able to help others myself someday.
Cheers all,
Twig.

@jim-wain Thats excellent for us! Yes a lot of people in this industry just give you the videos etc... then pack you off - we actively love being part of the community, I see you lot as a bunch of mates I get to chat sports, TV, fitness with and have a laugh!

@ryan-carruthers
Thanks Ryan. I found you by accident actually, one of your videos came up as a suggestion on YouTube. I went down the rabbit hole and here I am!
What drew me to here over other places were two main things. Firstly that you and the others that started this are actively involved daily, secondly I like the idea of a forum to get help rather than just being given videos and sent off alone.
I've learned so much already just from a few hours of being here and reading, so thank you to you and everyone else involved in this community.Twig

Cheers for the tips! I have looked at the spreadsheets and you're not wrong that they can look confusing! But I will get my head around it all.
I've got the list up of today's games for possible over 1.5s from the software so will be watching closely and playing around with some small stakes to begin. Thanks again!

Welcome to the group buddy!
Where do you find us?

Nicely done build the bank and the split stake is a solid strategy, any Q's give me a shout

Morning Twig.
Not a bad place to start with Ryan's split stake, very consistent even in weird covid times!
What I will say is it is very important to give yourself an edge by using software such as this which imo is second to none for information gathering and then some software that replicates Betfair/Betdaq interface.
Loads out there, and as far as I'm aware many of them are free to use on Betdaq.
Another thing that will save you a ton of time is investing in microsoft excel spreadsheets, you can export all of the information you get on here and track your results, plus you can do the same with Betfair.
It can look a little bit confusing at the start, but I was a hole digger on the railways and eventually even I could figure out the basics!!
All the best mate.
