    Hi All,

I'm Mark and originally from Manchester many years ago but have gone all posh and ended up in Cheshire.

Started match betting a few months ago because I am in my tenth month of furlough from a part time job and needed something to do. This led me into hearing about Sports trading, I started to try out and liked it but didn't have much of a clue. I watch quiet a some videos on Youtube and saw a few of Ryans which stood out due to the community side of things and no BS. I have just about completed the academy (Thanks Martin) and now want to start the real learning curve.

My background is 22 years Ex Military then Close Protection, Security consultant for another 19 years which took me around the globe. Now very happy to be back in the UK but need a focus and I am hoping trading will be it.

I joined BTC to get advice from real professionals which I hope in time will allow be to become semi professional. I am not looking to do this anytime soon, just see how it unfolds...I might be s**t at it....

Anyway thats me. All the best

@mark-gorton haha I went around the walls a few weeks ago. I used to live in Salford and was in and out of Manchester all the time so know what you mean.

    good news about the job.

interesting, we are bringing some horse software out soon and that should help as me and @Ryan-Carruthers will be ramping up our activity on the horse racing once that drops.

yeah use stakes you are comfortable with, getting used to accepting losing trades can take time, I used to have an ego about it when I first started but now I know how much it is part of the game.

keep us updated on your progress!

@martin-futter Hi Martin, I have enjoyed following your stuff on the academy, just got to finish the Tennis and Cricket master classes. I move to Chester about a year ago, the wife didn't like Manchester after living in France for 10 years...must be the gun shots and traffic....I liked it but then again I grew up there. Chester is a great place, we stayed in the Grovener a couple of time and enjoyed the restaurants and walking the wall . Funny enough never been to the races.

The job will still be there when I get back but its only part time to keep me off the streets so looking for something to do on the side.

I am looking at trading the North Mongolian league and beach football !!! I know I can come to you for advice....

But really, I am looking at trading horses for most of the reasons you listed but I have been following the BTC Football advice and although only doing £5 bets have hit most of the time, any win is a buzz and losing small stakes at this stage isn't too much of a stress...just don't like losing. Now that I have access to the software I can see how that works and work out which one I should concentrate on.

Thanks for the link up, all the best Mark

    @mark-gorton

Hi mate! I love Cheshire especially Chester itself and visit there as often as I can, actually went to University there for a while.

Sorry to hear about the furlough, will there be a job there when you go back?

Sounds like you come from a very impressive background and are starting out with a good mentality and realistic expectations.

What sport are you looking to trade?
