Treat these as a guideline for your own trading and as ever do your own further research before deciding what trades to make. Trading is a fluid process we are not too worried about the final result on these as we will want to get out long before the final whistle, like on cricket trading when I can drip liability out or green up for a good profit then I usually do so.
Scottish Premier League:
Rangers v Aberdeen -
Rangers have only won two of their seven home games this season, scoring 1.43 and conceding 1.29 on average. They have 8 points from those 7 games.
Aberdeen have not lost away from home this season winning five out of the seven. They score 1.86 goals per game and concede 1.0 on average. They have 17 points from those 7 away games.
Bruno Alves is a big return for Rangers coming back into the side. Dorrans, Rossiter and Wallace are still out though.
Aberdeen have a full squad to pick from.
I can't see anything in this that would make me feel Rangers are favourites here, the club is a total manager-less mess at the moment. At best I would say it is equal between the clubs, despite the overwhelming stats favouring Aberdeen here. So I am shocked to see Rangers as fairly strong favourites at 2.06.
As we all know either team can win but from a value perspective this one sticks out like a sore thumb for me, I would have Rangers at nearer 3.0 than 2.0 and think anyone who is backing them at 2.06 is brave. The only explanation I can think of for these warped odds is the reputation of Rangers as a massive club in Scotland but recent history would have Aberdeen as the better club for a few years now.
If Aberdeen start OK and Rangers do not dominate the opening exchanges I will be laying Rangers and trading out gradually from there. Even better if Rangers do take a first half lead I will lay them at short odds.
