22nd November - Trading notes on specific matches that take my interest. Treat these as a guideline for your own trading and as ever do your own further research before deciding what trades to make.
Champions League
5pm Qarabag/Karabakh v Chelsea:
Chelsea have struggled recently in general although their form has seen an upturn in the past couple of weeks. They have one loss and one win away from home in the CL this season. They have won 5/6 away games in the EPL but their sole loss was to bottom side Crystal Palace.
This is a tough place to travel and the only reason this game interests me is that Chelsea's price is very short at 1.32. I expect them to win but there is every chance Qarabag make this a very tough match for the English Premier League Champions.
Qarabag drew 0-0 with Atletico Madrid here already this season and held them to 1-1 away from home! So I think there is every chance Chelsea trade above 1.32 during this game, it is a price I am happy to lay from the off and take it from there. If Chelsea were totally dominant and a goal looked ominous I would look to get out of the trade asap.7.45pm Atletico Madrid v Roma:
Atletico Madrid have drawn three and lost one of their CL games so far. They have only scored two goals in four games. The have yet to lose in La Liga but have drawn their past three home games, although they were all against strong teams (Real, Barca and Villareal).
Roma have won two and drawn two of their CL games this season. Their last win was a 3-0 hammering of Chelsea at home. They have won all of their away games this season in the Serie A.
Atletico, a team that has yet to win in the CL this year including two games against Qarabag, are slight odds on which seems short to me.
From a trading perspective I would want to watch the first few minutes to ensure Atletico are not dominating the game and then lay Atletico and take it from there.English Championship
7.45pm Ipswich Town v Sheffield Wednesday:
Ipswich Town have been impressive at home this season winning 5/8 games, although these have won two and lost two of their last four home games. They have amassed 15pts at home. Ipswich also score on average 1.75 goals per match at home and only concede 1.0.
Sheffield Wednesday have only won 2/8 of their away games but they did win last time out against Aston Villa. They have 8 points from their eight away games. Wednesday score 0.75 goals per game away from home and concede 1.13 on average.
The reason this interests me is that Ipswich are priced at 3.1 and Sheff Wed are 2.58, I would have these odds reversed and for that reason I see some value in the Tractor Boys. From a trading perspective I would want to watch the first few minutes to ensure Wednesday are not dominating the game and then either lay Wednesday or back Ipswich draw no bet (you could even back Ipswich outright but that's not a trade I make personally, I like the draw on my side) and take it from there.
