Hi all,
I'm Dave from Birmingham and I've been trading on and off for 6 years or so but have now decided to treat it like a profession, as Martin advises.
I worked in HE for 10 years before quitting a couple of years ago to work for myself in the print on demand, e-commerce industry. It was all about quality of life and mental health for me and I see trading as having the potential to compliment this perfectly.
Fun fact, I'd never placed a bet or trade until 2014 after winning £250,000 on Sky Sports Super Six!
I joined BTC because I'm big on stats and data and so I'm very interested in the stats engine and being able to generate a trading plan using stats.In the past I've been guilty of over trading and trading on what's available to trade rather than what is suitable. Also a huge reason is the forum and the support. It was Martin's podcasts that persuaded me to invest, absolutely love them (Ryan's too of course!)
I hope to learn from the community and when in a position to I'd love to help back in return.
My trading goals are ultimately to go full time but I am not going to rush this. I work full time from home for myself and the nature of my work means I have a lot of time that I can commit to trading.

@ryan-carruthers After managing to escape the toxic 9-5 a couple of years ago my main goal at the moment is to continue to be able to make my own living, manage my own time and spend time with those I care about rather than those I’m paid to be with.

Wish it was something replicable that’s for sure - I’ve never been anywhere near since!

Welcome Dave. Certainly the right place to be for learning. I was an utter beginner when I joined, just 4 short months ago, still am really. My knowledge and understanding of trading has come on leaps and bounds and that is a direct result of the help from everyone here.

Welcome! I've been a member for 3 months or so now, no regrets, best decision I made! The community really makes it for sure - the support is endless and you're among like minded people! The stats software is good and relatively user friendly!
