I'm Shaun, and i've joined BTC after researching Betfair Trading online. About 10 years ago i got into matched betting and, despite making good returns, lost focus as other family commitments kicked in. However, having seen some of the paltry returns my savings and pension are generating, as well as increased working from home brought about by Covid, I want to give it another go, and in doing so far more actively manage my capital. I see a mix of matched betting (active), a small tipster portfolio (passive) and betfair trading (active) as the way forward.
Ideally when trading I want to focus on a relatively small number of strategies that are not hugely time intensive, can be managed alongside a pretty busy work schedule, and ideally can be automated through bots. Based on what i've researched today, Horses (Lay the Field, Lay Tipsters, Lay Timeform, TROBS) and Cricket look best suited. TROBS really looks up my street from what I can tell!
While i'm confident I have the discipline to manage the bankroll and not get emotionally involved, I have a lot to technically learn. This means i'm likely to initially ask a lot of questions (sorry in advance!) but as i grow in confidence and experience i'd be glad to contribute in any way i can.
BTC attracted me because i like the idea of interacting with like-minded folks with similar goals, with the opportunity to give and receive advice over time.
