Hi.
My name is Mike and I live in the Midlands in a quiet area on the outskirts of a small town.I have been trading for just less than six months, mainly on the Horses, but without any success (that is a total understatement). I turned my hand to learn to trade Football some 5 weeks ago, so I have much to learn. I am a pensioner of 73 so my time is limited, hopefully another 15/20 years, hey who knows, lol. So I have to cram as much in as I am able. My time is my own and I live alone, save from the odd visit of a friend for a couple of months here and there.
I retired at 42 and became a carer for my late partner for some 23 years. But for the previous 8 years I have been a traveller of the globe. Alas it sems those days are now behind me.
I have joined BTC to learn from others, is this selfish? no not really as I am sure that I am able to impart some knowledge of other matters during the course of my stay here. There is the added bonus of being able to communicate with other like minded traders, which for me is a bonus.
I do not have a bucket list, however, It would be great to get myself and to see others on here who are struggling to actually get into profit. Albeit from Horse Racing, Football or Tennis or whatever one gets good at.
May our trades be as green as the greenest grass.
Good fortune to one and all.
Mike

Many many thanks Ryan & Chris. Your warm welcome and kind words are much appreciated.
Chris I admire your stamina. It can't be easy teaching a close family member, it could be like teaching a family member to drive.
I have been fortunate in that whilst being a carer I had nothing to do during the evenings. So, it was with trepidation that I decided to purchase a desktop back in the early 90's. I say trepidation, because you have to remember that people of our age were not even introduced to calculators until our early 20's, and even then we did not need them. For most our age computers are just a word, an item that is waaaay beyond our comprehension.
Having purchased my desktop it was not long before I wanted to know how they worked. Full strip down and re-assembly, a couple of times told me that there was nothing to fear. Then how do web pages appear, so next task was learning HTML and CSS. Building websites was a simple matter once learned.
So even though I am at an age where I should be relaxing, I am young in mind, try telling my body that, lol.
Ryan. I sent you something yesterday (spreadsheet) It is hoped that you were not offended. It was to serve only as to how stupid I have been by not having the courage to fully follow my own hard hard work. I have decided that if allowed I shall post the odd selection on the forum, if that would be acceptable to yourselves.

@michael-roberts hi Michael, if you need any help or have any questions feel free to ask in the group or DM me. Huge respect for your situation, my father and I cared for my mother when she was ill for three years. Iβm teaching him to trade currently, heβs a similar age to you so perhaps I can help give you a leg up through my experience of that.

@michael-roberts Hey bud!
Excellent intro post, you will part of the furniture very soon just like @Justin-Sidaway we are a good bunch.
No way is is selfish to learn from us all, that's part of the culture that we have here, there's always somebody in the group further ahead of you and some further behind - all we ask is that you all help each other
Seems a lot of traders at the moment are leaving the horses to come to the football, I think the football is easier to trade to be honest

Many thanks Justin. Lets hope that we both have a good journey
By the way, do you happen to know how I am able to change my name?
