Aloha!
Thought I’d make my very own little introductory post, it’s one way to keep myself accountable, right? I go by Waz, and this is oddly enough the second time I’ve joined BTC. When I first joined I suppose I got slightly overwhelmed with using the stats software, and tried to do too many things at once.
But this time, my approach has changed. I’ve been doing a lot of life authoring over the past 5 months, and I have 8 different defined goals for the to achieve over the next year. I know, I sound bonkers right? One of those goals is to “Consistently profit from trading football”. I’ve been trading with varying success over the past few years, but I recently came across one of Ryan’s videos about mentality. And whilst devising this goal, (any its many sub-goals, because I’m THAT bloody sad, ) it got me thinking. Could I learn trading by fully grasping the fundamentals first?
And that is exactly what I am doing. Every day, I am watching one video from the training videos series. I am making notes on it, and I am letting it sit in my mind for the rest of the day. I am not going to bother with making any winning trades at all. I am just going to let my mind ponder the trading message for the day.
I know this might sound like a very orthodox way of going about learning how to trade, but I am actually a fully qualified teacher. And this is how I methodically will attempt to turn pro, by learning rather than chasing any green.
It’s like what Martin said in Video 11 – Paper Trading. “There is a career here if you are really good at it”.

@waz Incredible, love it.
I have always been fascinated with these kind of books and reading. recently been reading literally everything from Micheal Hyatt. It's brilliant.
what was the best book/resource you found on this?

@ryan-carruthers It's part of my new identity now, there's no going back!
I started reading more and more about successful people. And eventually I started getting into habits. As in reading around Habits and behavioural psychology. It actually became this weird thing that I started passionately enjoying reading about. And before you know it, I had stumbled up writing as a means of self-development. So I took the best bits from a few places on the Internet regarding psychological writing, and I just started completing the activities. Before you knew it (well about 4 months later), I had written about every major event that had happened in my past. I had analysed the f**k out of them (excuse my language), figured out the sort of effect they had on me, what behaviours of mine they could explain in the present day, all that mumbo jumbo.
And it's true what they say once you've done this exercise, you've forced yourself to address every demon in your life. It's crazy good, and this is coming from someone who has had a great life up until now.
There's a future authoring exercise, and it's the same sort of thing. But you're evaluating your present day habits, and painting the picture of your life in 3 months, 1 year, 5 years etc. But in insane detail. It's like looking at your actual future, down to the minute details.
Writing about these sorts of things forces me to hold myself accountable every single day for my actions, I don't spend more than 10 minutes a day on this stuff. So far I've wrote more than my dissertation and Masters project combined, which is just insane. Definitely life redefining Ryan, 11/10, would recommend.

@waz Waheyyyy!
Welcome back my friend, I love the new mentality on it! sounds like you are going to get it sorted this time!
How come you started authoring about your life? (I'm very curious on this one).
