    Hi guys,

    I'm Bogdan, from Romania, Bucharest.
I've been playing around with Betfair for while now and I cannot say that that I'm a trader (for now). For the past year I mostly tried to learn what's the real meaning of being a trader(with the cost of a few banks), what's the difference between a trader and a gambler, what are the core principles and the mentality to succeed in this trading world.

My goal for now is not necessary to make a living from this, the main reason why I'm trying to trade is because I really love football in all it's forms(playing it, watching it, betting on its markets) and if I can be successful from it,
that would be a very nice reward. Surely we all dream to make lots of money from trading but until hen I'm down to earth and not putting unnecessary pressure on myself.

From all the materials that I've red and all the videos that I watched I came to a conclusion that this is a very tough journey and mostly because of the psychological battle which is the first enemy of any trader. I think I can handle this one because of a few reasons: I don't depend on this to make a living, I only trade money that I'm comfortable losing, I only trade on the football markets because that's what I love and I know that in the end it's down to a crunching numbers and following a strict plan/system to make profit on the long term which brings me to the reason why I joined BTC.

I started to work on a few systems myself and tested with real money following the exact plan but I couldn't get that value out of the market, most of the times breaking even or even in small loss after a series of 100 games(which I know is not a big number). So I need to learn from other traders out here what strategies they are using, how they filter down the matches, what signals do they follow in order to be profitable. I know that in the end the difference between a profitable and nonprofitable strategy is down to fine tuning the criteria used for match selection and the actual trading entry/exit point. I will also try to give back whenever I feel that my experience is valuable for the community.

Is my first day on the forum, and I've been watching you guys on YouTube for quite a while until I decided to give it a go and join the community.

What do you think about automation? How do you think it will look in the next 10 years or so?
I know that you are probably thinking and having big plans for improving on this area. So far the Stats Software is very useful and can save you a lot of time to filter games. This would be one of the other few steps needed in a complete trading flow.

Do you intend to touch other areas from this flow? Like automation of placing bets in the market? I know there are a few products that does that but to a certain extent.
What are the barriers of achieving full automation on Betfair? I have in mind SF scenarios where you just 'code' your input and the algorithm does everything for you 24/7. Imagine that you would get rid of the most common enemy of any trader, the emotional side of the trading process. That could be revolutionary.

Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

@ryan-carruthers I would love to see your software going in that direction. Keep up the good work! I would love to ask a few questions to Adam about his approach and maybe share some of my ideas. I actually started to work on a bot of my own for a few months now, I have some programming background.

    @bogdan-visan

Adam built his own buddy, great to see how much work you have already put into your trading on YouTube etc... it's really great to see this and it will set you up.

To be fair what you have said is exactly what I would love to build as we have such a solid stats software.

@catalin-radu Salut, chiar ma intrebam daca sunt romani pe aici. Ma bucur sa vad ca nu sunt singurul. Poate ne mai auzim, imparasim pareri. Ar trebui sa vorbim in enegleza, sa fim transparenti, asa e frumos. 😄

@ryan-carruthers Thank you! Great to be here.
I was mainly running something very similar with your LTD late goal strategy, and I was mainly looking for in play stats to get in the trade. I don't have any centralized data because I didn't had much time to put the work. As I said.. I was just experimenting. But I understand that I need to start record my bets and tweak them to get better results.

About automation, I just searched the forum and I'm impressed, there is so much about this subject here. I am familiar with Bet Angel as I watch a lot of videos from Peter Webb but I didn't use the software myself. Bet Angel Automation is not really fully automation. You still have to chose the matches manually to bet on, you cannot make it to entry or close your bet based on in play stats(or at least I'm not aware of that). I know you'd have to use paid services to get your hands on something like that.

You are saying Adam is trading fully automated. That is very nice. I'm not aware of anything in the market that could achieve full automation.

BTC Stats Software is one important component for this process and some future integration with this would be very nice.
    Here is my view:

    1. here you have all matches for this strategy(Stats Software functionality) - pre match filtering based on history stats
    2. an actual mechanism that will place/exit bets on the above selected matches if the in play stats/match events criteria are matched
Everything above is automated, you just input your parameters and the bot does the rest.

Of course that is very simplistic, but the idea is that it can make dynamic decisions based on your input parameters. That's what I see as full automation.

    Wow what an intro @Bogdan-Visan

Firstly welcome! Great to have you here, I hope you have a long and happy time with us at BTC.

On the systems/strategies you were working do you still have the data? Could there be some tweaks in terms of goal times/leagues etc... ?

I think Automation personally will be and is growing in trading, our very own Adams trading is all automated. I am working on getting some of mine automated - direct from the stats software selections. As algorithms get smarter with this I think it will get bigger and better to be honest. Way do you think about?
