Loving the learning.

Hi I'm Graham,
Extremely fortunate to be able to retire early following 30 years in the IT industry. Decided to learn to trade as a means of keeping the brain cells occupied and hopefully earn a few bob to buy a decent bottle of rum now and again. I'm totally risk adverse so very keen to learn from this knowledgable community. Currently paper trading and trying to fathom out why the daily selections are the daily selections. I'm enjoying the academy videos and practicing with the trading software - I'm using BetTrader. I'm just going through the Trading Essential lessons. The forums are brilliant Guys, there's so much value there.
After my first week I get the principles of buying low and selling high and can now use the software to execute on trades albeit in practice mode. I'm mesmerised by the amount of movement in the market at certain times, its both fascinating and frightening.
All good so far.
Cheers
Graham

@graham-kemp Ahahah nearest one love it!
Wow! Thats interesting, it's going to be a huge development I think in the next fews years wonder when bots and AI will move into trading mainstream.

Did someone mention Rum? The flippant answer is that the go-to bottle of Rum is the nearest one. But, I'd have another crack at a bottle of Goslings Family Reserve if I could.
My role in IT was Sales Management, I'm not a techie, but we had to fly our own planes so I possibly could get curious about using tech such as 'Bots' at some stage. In fact Robotic Process Automation was the largest growing area of all of our value propositions.

@graham-kemp Amazing to have you buddy!
What is your go to bottle of rum?
When you say IT are you able to leverage those skills to help you create some trading bits?
