Horse Lays and 3 month results video!

Hi Martin,
You seem to think I was being critical of the system in my post of 15th August.Far from it as I just want to make sure, as a newbie, that I was following the system correctly.
Both tipsters in the 15.20 ar Salisbury were pretty poor with minus £23.77 and minus£46.43 and they picked different horses in the same race.
I realise that not all bets will be successful, I just wanted to make sure I was following the rules.
On that particular day I has 2 wins and 3 losses.
The winners (losers!!) were Melgate majeure 16.00 at Beverley and Franz Kafka 20.10 at Kempton
The losers (winners!!) were Inner Circle 15.00 Beverley, Black Anthem 16.40 Newton Abbot and Four Wheel Drive 17.05 at Beverley. -

Perfect day on the horses yesterday which is nice. Builds up a little buffer against the swings expected
full house on win and place! great day!

Well I decided to pull my finger out and get involved in this since watching martins video yesterday and it’s been a good start.
I did miss the first race today but got on all the others and it was a full house and a N/R, can’t grumble at that.As Martin said below, this will swing like a mother but I can happily go with that flow and not sweat it. Results speak for themselves

Hi Martin/Ryan.
New to the forum and Betfair.
System looks great, so followed it yesterday, with disappointing results, but early days.
A questions, if I may.
Do I understand the rules correctly, because if so, one of the rules is that if 2 of the crap tipsters give different tips in the same race, the race should be ignored.
If that is the case, Martin selected Sezim in the 15.20 at Salisbury yesterday, but Andy Morris of the Shropshire Star had selected Clara Peters in the same race.
This is not a criticism, but I want to see if I am following the rules correctly.
Keep up the great work.
I am sure I will get there eventually.
PatWhat results were disappointing bud? One short priced winner of a race? We are up since yesterday at the moment. If you are worried about one loser or a bad run then this won't be for you as this will swing like a mother at times such is the nature of the game.

@josh-shaw I think theyre under 'horse resources thread', john posted them there a while ago. Its probably missing the last few weeks for this year but obviously shouldnt affect 2018
-
@lee-woodman do you have the results to hand for 2018?
-
@finn-kristensen We looked at the place lays and 2.0-3.0 seemed the sweet spot. We looked at the results for last year and the results so far this year and they both stacked up together. There was probably a couple of hundred results for 2018 and similar for 2019. The win lays didnt show any particular pattern in terms of odds ranges
-
@patrick-murphy were they both right at the bottom? one of them may not have been a bad enough tipster for me to consider their selection
-
@finn-kristensen nice insight.. Maybe follow the current process for the next month and see how we go on?
-
@patrick-murphy I just did a quick analysis of the results until a couple of days ago and with the risk of back fitting/over analyzing a small sample size it looks like we should avoid laying horses at odds below 3.50. In fact these selections could be backed with a decent profit. The two days following my quick analysis supported the theory, as there have been 3 horses running, two of those had odds below 3.5 and both won, while the single horse above odds 3.5 did as we wanted, i.e. didn't win (and didn't even place). For Place Lays, so far it looks like we should only Lay horses in the odds range 1.50 - 2.75 (Place odds). Very early days and a small sample size for this but I will be tracking it as we go along.

@patrick-murphy Hey buddy!
Great to have you here, @Martin-Futter will be best placed to answer the Qs. I've tagged him so he will see it and answer when he is next on

I actually did try this approach a year or so ago - my results were pretty mixed back then so I skipped it eventually, but I never really did have any filters added or any personal judgement of the horses (primarily as I was a total novice to horse racing back then). But anyway: Great video - and as of today I will be laying these lame horses.
-
@josh-shaw cracking aren't they!
-
@martin-futter naive of me but I have never followed the daily lays, will be changing that on the back of this video!
thank you.
