Who are you? John from Sheffield
What stage are you at in your trading journey? Just starting, though have done some match betting.
What's your background? Worked in retail from day 1 but its gets harder out there.
Why did you join BTC? Dabbled with the Betfair exchange and was looking for a way to make steady gains.
What do you hope to get from the community? To get and hopefully give ideas to increase my edge. You all seemed a friendly bunch. There seems to be lots of enthusiasm.
What are some of your trading goals? Looking to make enough to get some nice holidays.

Hi All.
I am Jason from North Wales.
New to trading, but have dabbled with some matched betting, so this is week 5 of working my way through Betfair trading.
Decided to join BTC having watched and read many elements and felt I need the support and knowledge of all you guys.
I am keen to learn and get the most from trading, I work full time but would like to invest more time over the coming months/years into trading.
I am focused on Football for now, it seems vast the amount I need to learn and move my trading into something that's profitable.
I want to learn and I am like a sponge with it all, I can be a little impatient in life, but I am really focussing on taking it slowly.

@martin Was looking at Tennis ready for Wimbledon and the Stats doesn't seem to work? I did see a comment regarding no major events but was looking at the ATP event Monte Carlo or is it the main tour events it covers?

Good Evening, at last made the step to join BTC after listening to many a podcast and watching you tube videos.
Who are you? Richard
Where you from? The Black Country, Stourbridge West Mids
What Stage? Just starting out on my trading journey?
Background? Been in Telecoms, to Financial Services for the last 20 years but now Sales Manager for one of the main Mobile providers
Why BTC? Love the passion and like the fact its aimed to be a professional environment not people out to belittle people.
What do I hope to get from the community? Knowledge, assistance and support but also provide it back as my knowledge grows.
Trading goals? To be consistent and slowly build a regular increase in bank. And then grow sports I trade in.

I asked a question about how to find suitable trades easily and he said BTC can get me them in 3 clicks and my second question was also solved by joining BTC and I should really join! He did say he doesn't like to hard pitch the community on the podcast but, I should definately join, it could change my life and also it's really nice! Hence my jokey comment about the "hard sell"! I was already giving considerable thought to joining.
I've been working the last few days and I'm not off until Tuesday and work late, so have only been able to bet and forget stuff so far and watch the getting started videos.

I'm Richard
I'm from Grays in Essex (The one where the council got scammed, lost all the money and the tax is going up by 10% as a result. Still you've got laugh, probably).
I've been trading for a couple of months. The usual story - making steady progress and then scaled up too quickly and/or did a poorly researched trade when I couldn't keep an eye on it.
I've been a field service engineer for the last 7 years, repairing gambling machines, pool tables and other leisure machines. If I can't work out how to fix something I'll ring someone who might be able to help.
I joined BTC because Ryan really hard sold it to me on the podcast
! That and I was doing matched betting, I'm gubbed on 3 sites (officially on 2 and stealthily on 1 - I was jumping through hoops to get £10 out of BetUK and while that got sorted I asked about the lack of promotions and was told they were, temporarily, removed for "safety reasons"! ) and I thought trading would be the next step.I hope to get better at trading by learning.
Goals wise I want to be a profitable trader, if I can do that I'll think of another goal!

I was chatting to a derivatives trader in the gym, she's like 34 with a Range Rover SVR and her gym bag is more expensive than everybody's in the gym combined lol

Great to be here, my name is Toyin.
I live in Woodford which on the London/Essex border and I have had my betfair account since 2006. I opened it to use the betangel software and automate a trading strategy for a colleague who was also an oil derivatives trader. After I left the company I dropped the project and then about 2 years ago (pandemic project) I picked it up again without betangel and going direct to the exchange using their api.All I need now are some winning strategies to automate and that's why I joined BTC (saw some great YouTube content)!
My background is software engineering, I hope to learn and laugh (not too much crying I hope) and my trading goals are to make this thing pay for my lavish lifestyle
