A lot of stuff seems to go missing in the HRT, especially now it has livened up. I will post anything useful here. Links/files etc.
I will post the links etc in the first comment(this one. They will then be referenced in the relevant comment if applicable. Feel free to question away.
GENERAL RESOURCES
This calculation will work out your drawdown.
=MIN((Y2-MAX($Y$2:Y2))/MAX($Y$2:Y2),0)
You need to apply it to your running total column as I have done in the example below. Make your first row your starting bank. This then needs to be applied to the whole column.
This calculation will then show you your highest bank drawdown. It needs to be applied to the relevant column.
=MIN(AH:AH).
It will then give you a largest drawdown figure like this.

If anyone uses google sheets and you have your filter S/R, then in the cell next to it put this:
=1/(E16/100)/100 (e16 being the cell with the % S/R)
Should auto calculate the odds required (not counting for commission)

Always run two versions of your strategy. One called results with all your filters and one called qualifiers with variables like number of runners removed. You can then filter these manually or on your bot as they change a lot.The Original Maria Staking Thread from 2005.

dr-trobs.jsonBasically the same but the Dobs use a wider price range. Do either or both. They are both profitable.
-
@Tony-Hastie the win is good on these. It used to be as well before the pandemic. Was at least as profitable as the trobs
-
So many ways to approach this. I really want another look at the beaten favourites as well. They were good for so long
-
@John-Folan and am now trying to work out why Fiver Friday and Warda Jamila didnt make my trade list
-
@John-Folan The 17.10 at Hamilton was good to me thanks to Desperate Hero. As well as the 4 point QOB system I had a point on the win. It bolted in going off at 12s.
I added a win point last month as I seemed to be picking a few winners. Ended the month with a 49% win rate! Suffice to say it was a good month....and will probably be very hard to emulate
-
What a race!! 17:40 at Hamilton had two selections in the odds range. Both dobbed and both trobbed.
Today reads
Dobs 3/3
Trobs 2/27 points profit
-
1/2 dobs and 1/1 trobs for two points profit. Points on the board for the start of the month

@John-Folan do you subject your selections to any other criteria you don't cover in the posted strategies? I add yours to mine to create a shortlist. A lot of yours fall foul of my 4 runs minimum rule...
Not really. I just let the bot get on with it. My L2B bot is still a work in progress by the way. Nearly there I think.

May Results for Automated Trades.
DOBS: 6 Points. Nice and Steady
Trobs: 16 Points. Didn't think it was that much as they had a mid month dip. Nice.
Total: 22 Points. Cracking couple of months. Just shows that a bit of patience and no tinkering when you have a couple of bad results actually works!

@John-Folan Another L2B question...
Ive noticed that a horses odds can be hovering just in the red for quite a while in some races, even when its dead last(longer races mainly) How long would you wait before getting out? (Assuming its still close to the back and doesnt look to be struggling)
The flat I’m out before a minute and the jumps before two regardless. Generally goes to pot after that.

Bang tidy 5 points today
-
@John-Folan great stuff!
-
Nice recovery day today. Pulled back another 4 points
-
Point back yesterday. I’m still not far off the bank high so guessing the variance monster is having its wicked way with me
-
I got mullered yesterday. It happens but I still sulk. In the plus side I made a few quid of the FA cup final
-
@Tony-Hastie haha we've had about a month of rain here in a day in North West
