@liam-couper I love the point about upscaling. The markets are mechanical, they work the same way at lower stakes (of course unless your dropping £££). Which is why I like the upscale point if your edge works on £20, 50 stakes etc... it will work at £100.

Focus on the basics, keep it simple and master one edge and upscale! I always over trade or well I did, trying to change that!

@mark-collier You can surely pull it back? I'm just sticking to LTD. Great improvements this month. Not many trades a day though.

Horses are fav lays and pace. Football was a LTD pick, just on impulse really.

I usually do more football but been lazy with my filters!!

@dave-bartlett 'when you lose, don't lose the lesson'. As long as we learn from it and don't make the same mistake again. I'm quite positive about my trading now. Hopefully it'll pay for Xmas for me!

@matt-dadley I was...until I started f*****g around! I still will be too. A few months loss is nothing. Back to basics and I'm already in profit. I've just found trying to find an edge in another market difficult. In truth, I don't actually need other markets

I made this mistake 12-18 months ago.

@liam-couper Yes, it is. Again, I don't think I need other markets. I would certainly like to learn them, but I would need the 'idiots guide'! I actually think I made too much money, too quickly and too easily. Complacency set in.

Can I get it back to the level I was before? Absolutely!

The market you were doing well in, is easily scale able especially if using major leagues.. so if you can master that, I have no doubt you can make a decent amount which might let you explore other markets?

I thought you were one of the success stories!
Seems a few people I thought were consistently green aren't.
Funny enough makes me feel better battling my own mindset.

@liam-couper The frustrating things is, I've nobody to blame but myself. I spend too long feeling sorry for myself. I know exactly what I shouldn't be doing, but I keep dabbling in it anyway.

I now look at any game that is 0-0 at HT. I check the BTC stats and in-play stas. Mostly i just do the major European Leagues. I only had about 4 trades from Saturday morning to Saturday night, but they were 4 winning trades.

I've been posting less and less now on the forum too

Sounds all to familiar. When I have had some losers, I dont chase (thank god) but I do get cold feet and I then look at my spreadsheets to find out I missed an up turn and as you say, I know I should be doing it.. but I dont!

Awesome, cant complain with 4 winners! I was looking at doing similar, I have a filter for LCS but has a ton of random leagues and liquidity is questionable to be scaled up.

Any reason behind not posting as much?

By the way, I still hope to quit work within the next 3 or 4 years, but I really need to get my act together.

I know how you feel, II have been up and down like a YOYO recently! This is me trying to sort that and be consistent. You developed your filter or still the same one? Sometimes the most simple things are most effective!

Me too, I would love to quit work by the time I am 30, but I also need to get my act together and be more disciplined, in both life and trading! (I enjoy my bed too much!!!!)

I am really naughty. When I stake I use 10% of my bankroll. I know I shouldn't and it has got me into difficulty in the past. If I stick to my LTD at HT I am fine, but once I deviate away from it then I have problems.

This past 2 months I've been laying the 1st draw, LTD at HT, LCS and laying underdogs if they are winning. In truth it hasn't worked out well. I reverted back to LTD at HT and now I'm back in profit. I lost loads of money in the process though. It is all part of the learning curve, despite it being painful.
