Cricket t20 update
eng (w) vs india (w) = +1.04pts/% of bank
Nice simple trade here, england set a very solid base for the first 10 overs (both for men and womens game) with wickets in hand this looked a tasty entry. I got on at 1.33, perhaps might seem a low price, but given the bowlers remaining and the batsmen set i felt it value. England went on to blast away to 150 ahead of schedule and then iv just greened up for a nice point profit. Simple trades like this are what have slowly been ticking the cricket bank along. I have cricket tomorrow so away to enjoy the rest of the game with feet up and no trading thought.
There are football games on my filters!!! Ill post them in the morning
-
No trades so far this month. Was hoping to be on the cricket but england decided to humiliate sri lanka and couldnt get involved with an untradeable market. Loads of cricket coming up tho. Euros ends next week and that also from what i can see will be when the rest of summer leagues hit the 10 game threshold i have for my filters. So expect a busier 2nd half of july
Ill post my trades when they pop up. Big 2nd half of year incoming

Eagle eyed or followers will have seen that we have doubled the bank. Based on how the schedule of this was done its taken us roughly 3 full months of trading.
Football = 45 pts/% of bank
Cricket = 57 pts/% of bankThis could have been so much more. Ipl being halted and then a slack end to the season. I say slack, still done well but not as well as planned.
Please just let this show you that these things can be done. You dont need to grow the bank to a full time one in one month, just build it gradually. If you plan to trade long term then time is not your enemy with trading. Make sure that when your bank does reach full time levels that nothing needs to change. You just keep doing the same. Loads of people think they need to rush to full time then stop. I did! But ended up staggering when i reached it. Now im more zoned in as to what i want from trading and doing it in the way i want. So when i do hit the £10k and £20k targets that nothing im doing will change and it can be as passive as possible.

Solid month, albeit a quiet one. Was always going to be the case as there are a few factors.
- Im back playing cricket, tues, thurs and sat/sun
- Business is back fully up and running now restrictions are less its still a small one so requires me to be fairly hands on
- There are very few summer leagues active that have had 10 or more games played and popping on the filters.
- Euros is dead, while iv made a profit from them they have been a snooze fest bar a few games. My own opinion. Iv fallen out of love with watching football. Its why this year has all been about data only trading. Fits my new lifestyle that trading has provided.
How does this month affect this year target:
Still on course, this is the quiet stage of my trading because of the reasons above, once games start hitting filters this will return to a more football heavy p/l. Cricket will still be one of my main earner during these months purely because i can be involved in a trade for long period of time. Football for the SHG requires me to be there and with cricket at weekends and nights during week it becomes less possible. Despite my grumblings we have still made a nice profit on the football and the games that did qualify on the filters worked wonders and keeps me rising.Cricket again proving to be a handy earner even with very few trades. With a heavy T20 schedule potentially on horizon i expect that will steeply rise the bank.
Happy with all this and moving onto july. Liking the return to just keeping this passive and not caring too much about it. Was the main reason i withdrew so much money from the bank to invest elsewhere. Allowed me to have my passion elsewhere so i can easily switch off from trading. Lot of people get jittery at bad runs or few losses for me i dont even look at it until end of week. Its all part of the process. Trading with value and an edge on the markets will always win long term. Dont just think iv switched from heavy inplay to data for money, it makes me less, but its provides me a easier state of mind and lifestyle. If trading is your main aim/income then inplay id recommend. For me its just one of my passive income streams now. Hopefully by looking at my table above you can see that it doesnt take long before it becomes a healthy amount. Mindset switch's and tricks like withdrawing your bank and starting again with it smaller makes you understand and value what your attempting to do and also what your hoping to achieve with trading sport. Greed creeps into a lot of things when making money is based solely on your decisions and no one else's. For me mindset is all this is now, even at my level of trading im still improving this. Its like i keep saying its damn easy to find a profitable strategy but its how you manage that which determines your longevity. Keep this whole thing simple!!
Battling trading for greed and trying to have your best month or limit a bad one all ends in tears. Dont laugh at the person who averages 10%-30% every month, its he who can then plan ahead. He can then measure how his strategies truly are doing. Loads of people have up and down months, with that comes emotions. You can read almost every personal blog there is or even after some games on the football thread. Just try to manage yourself well. Its amazing even after a bad run how quickly it can change just from a few good days. Dont think you need to battle the markets to win it back. Its all about averaging out your growth over long term, soaking up the bad ones and not getting greedy on the good runs/overconfidence. Its rich of me to be posting a rising bank but remember if i dont show this then people wont believe its possible and by me showing people might relate to the stuff i post advice wise on the forum from time to time. I love the transparency i show with my trading.

Iv been thinking a bit recently in the last 14 days, iv prioritised football over cricket and by football i mean the euros. What iv shown with football in the last 4 months since going fully data only based trading instead of inplay is it actually suits me and the lifestyle im after. For the last 2 weeks iv been sat watching football. Going back to my old way of trading, which obviously was still profitable it helped turn my bank into £20k from a small amount. However getting to that sum was also a strain on other things outside of the trade, time and effort went into that which took me away from looking after myself better. But this new way im trying to veer towards is so much better, treating it less of a main income and more passively, partly why i went back down to a smaller bank to reinforce that change of priorities. I think part of me didnt want june and july to be quiet months and have made ridiculous profits from cups and internationals in the past.
So with all that attention iv been missing out on some solid cricket trades and doing what i was enjoying before euros, got caught up in the hype a bit. So apart from the outrights for the euros already posted im gonna be taking a step back from them. My business is busy, im playing cricket at night for training on both tues and thurs and the matches on sat. In between that before the euros i was making huge efforts to the fitness and building strength for cricket to avoid injuries. Time to get my priorities in check.
Euros total so far stands at 3.42pts profit, ill take that, could i have racked up more yes but honestly some of these games are a snooze fest and maybe this is me becoming tired of football, hence why data only is working better now. Summer stuff is away to start hitting my filters which will be a nice trickle to the cricket over the summer before a return to the main league trading in sept. Ill also in a pure cricket nerd way never get bored of it

Cricket Update:
NZ vs India = +2.7pts/% of bank
With this game providing a 6th day in reserve for bad weather even more chance for a result. However forecast was for rain on the majority of days. It was raining on day 1 and thanks to james he also was keen to keep us all updated. I backed the draw here first at 2.52 then a top up when we got the live pics and james updates at 1.88. I sat on them until the odds on the draw hit 1.3. From there i stuck to my original plans, waiting till day 3 onwards to make a move. Didnt find a good trade until the final day. With NZ making inroads, with just shami and bumrah left to bat i backed NZ at 1.4, shami and bumrah easily dismissed and with only 140 to get was an easy target on the best batting conditions of the whole test. The 2 stalwarts of NZ cricket batting it out to the end. Could have done some scalping to top up the profits but with the euros also on just allowed this to finish untouched. Really happy with the profits given im still using reduced staking for longer formats. None of the trades were hopes they were waiting for good movements in the match. Bring on the rest of summer shame its one way traffic in the eng t20 right now but id have loved to trade it. Still 2 euro games to watch and might get involved with them.
Great Day as also had 2/2 trades in the football come in this month is starting to gather pace in the back end

Great result from scotland and perhaps actually long term a good one for england who might not win the group now and face this group of death runners up in group f. Either way im torn between thinking we should have won and then feeling glad we gave it as good a go as we did, we just dont have clinical strikers.
Been a up and down euros and copa, back in the zone again and keeping it simple. Started to use the ltd strategy on them and then meaning im being more aware of when to use the SHG strategy. Nice and simple. Now we are into the main part when teams know whats needed points wise gonna make motivation a huge part. Then into the knockouts when trading should be easier as its good teams vs good teams price wise too

Ill post this on here away from the threads, but i cannot hide my excitement for tonight. I very much doubt we will win or even score :scotland: but we very rarely get to have these type of matches 23 years i was 5 years old back then, iv grown up us being utter garbage, only ever showing up for the big games and giving us amazing nights against france home and away being my highlight growing up! Iv always been an optimist for our national teams in all sports i watch, we typically get our hopes up with great games then lose the ones we need, that serbia penalty shoot out is the typical thing we would have lost, we didnt. When we do something big it means more for us, the fact we are here is enough
We now go up against england who quite rightly are one of the favs for this comp yet alone this game. I really dont care who wins, none of us actually expect anything from it, trust me, but we just love being here and trying to have a go at england. We have done these one off games before, remember the 2 freekicks from the last game at hampden, remember our rugby team winning at twickenham and our proud part time scotland cricket team beating england at the grange we arent here to win the comp we are here to enjoy it, dont go trying to crush us for taking part we dont care we are here for the party
Enjoy tonight, im not trading it at all, just gonna enjoy it even if england teach us a lesson, we will not stop singing all night, TARTAN ARMY! :scotland: i have cricket match tomorrow, needing a miracle cure for it after tonight

I think COVID has changed so much. A work life balance is super important. Do what you enjoy. We're only here once and only for a short time.
So true

@darri Sounds like your body is getting used to it all now
Enjoy the game, should be fairly good this one. Scotland the Brave! :scotland:
Also spare a bit of support for your two lads at the worlds strongest man, Stoltman brothers are currently there now :scotland:

@matt-wood thanks bud, yeah been something ever since i started to make good money from all this to try improve on the life balance, iv done the grafting now its time to enjoy the fruits of that hardship.
Injuries are fine at present, recovery times after games or nets around the regular sore points from the past are much quicker now im eating better and training them with better schedules and techniques. Kind of like trading in a way
Anyway off to enjoy what might be 1 of 3 games us scots :scotland: get at the euros, so off to make most of it

@darri
Nice post Darri, work life balance is super important. We all need money, yes, but we all need to pursue the things we are passionate about too.
Fingers crossed those injuries stay small and infrequent

It might be glaringly obvious to some but i have been far more quiet around trading this past few months. My cricket season has started again so training on tuesdays and thursdays and then matches at weekend takes away trading time. Added to that im building up my fitness and strength as im generally far too injury prone and need to build some resistance. Got my video production and content creation business now almost freely able to do this every single day with restrictions easing all the time. Iv recently now also started to run all my cricket clubs fundraising and social media as long term id love part of my main business to be involved in cricket.
These things all mean summers are gonna be very quiet for me on the trading front. Thats why long plays such as test cricket and midweek football action will be the main trading ill be doing. Its not because games arent qualifying its cause i cant be there for them. The vitality blast in england is underway and i havent even seen a single ball of any matches.
That really is the main goal this year with trading, making it less of my main income and have it as a passive one. I feel the others have bigger potential not in terms of money but in terms of a lifestyle i want. Sat behind a comp screen or on your phone all day waiting for trades isnt something i enjoy, no one to talk to and by yourself. Will my mindset change when i have kids probably, but there are bucket list things i want to achieve asap and trading therefore needs to not always be my main work around.
This whole passive income life iv never really understood until now/covid. The more quality streams you have the better. I suppose betfair trading in the last 2 years and starting my own business makes you understand these things more. Iv never been in a position where im enjoying life without the worry of money, its always been work to play and do the things i want and having things make money while doing my regular life seemed alien and unreachable. I always thought those people had rich families or got lucky/worked super hard. You dont need a fortune to have a passive income lifestyle, you just need one or two good ones that you can funnel and snowball the others with.
Ill be doing a trading bank update soon as we just doubled the bank recently and i never updated it as had a few active trades on the football/cricket at the time, will likely do it after the euros. The compounding has already taken shape and looking to be hitting those targets set on my sheet this next few months and get a good cushion before the normal trading routine returns.

Cricket Update
Eng vs NZ Test: +1.20 points/% of bank
Continuing the trend and my plans for test cricket with waiting to trade until at least day 3. This time getting on what was a ridiculously priced draw. England have looked shot of confidence and NZ even with massive changes still looked in control. Being away for most of the day i queued the LTD in the morning, just as i was leaving house the price was tumbling down and knew if no wickets fell i should get matched easily. I did and came home to not only NZ innings over but also Englands (almost). Great little trade here, in future as iv already said a few times now, i will after this summer be upping my stakes on the ODIs and Test matches to match what i do in the t20s and be relative to the bank. Exciting times.

@darri thank you. The problem was, I was doing it on my phone. Once I switched to desktop view I found it.
